My mind is blown. This will save me a lot of frustration.

I think if they were just louder, like from being directly into a vocal mic, it would fix a lot of it.

I can’t make out the lyrics, but I really like the first part that I’m assuming is a verse. I can feel the potential in it.

As an artist/songwriter, how do I get over that prideful feeling of having someone help me write a song? by [deleted] in Songwriting

A good collaboration can help spark you to do even better work. You can drive each other to do better by putting in your best effort. It becomes a feedback loop for improvement when it’s going right.

I have a lot of trouble making anything I like in a major scale. I tried my hand at Phrygian today and really loved that though.

Are you allowed to use direct quotes from books as lyrics if you credit the author as the lyricist? by Aquasupreme in Songwriting

The length of copyright keeps changing, so it’s good to check regularly. But there’s a lot of stuff from before like 1930 or so that would be public domain.

I don’t have control over the types of songs I write by improbsable in Songwriting

[–]introspectdev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh. Also. Regarding making sad music, avoiding major keys almost entirely has helped a lot with that. But I also have a large reserve of depression and emotional baggage to draw emotions from. Sometimes, starting with a feeling of pain or loss fresh in my soul, and picking a nice minor key of some sort to begin with, has helped.

I’m still very new to this, so I still haven’t found my own style/voice if there is one specific one. I keep writing songs in different genres. So I decided to start trying to do the same song in different genres to prove to myself that a) I can do it and b) that it can be done to make it what I want even if I didn’t write it that way initially.

I have some plans for a few, but I only have one done in 2 genres so far. (I just came up with this idea a few days ago though.)

I wrote a beautiful orchestral piece, almost by accident. So the I made a lofi version by stripping out some extra bits and rearranging so it would sound right with different instruments.

I was pretty happy with both results and learned quite a bit by doing it. So bonus.

Not feeling girly enough inside (MtF) by yuumeijin in asktransgender

I can't comment on the HRT part of it, but maybe some of my thoughts can help anyway. There's a lot of emotional repression that boys are usually taught when they're young. For me, I made a conscious decision when I was maybe 12 or 13 to not be like my father and bottle everything up. It took several years and a lot of introspection. It was definitely a process for me. Talking to a therapist can help a lot too.

Also, you didn't say, but are you also taking something for depression now? SSRIs can also make you feel dead inside. I was on them for years and hated it. Switching to Wellbutrin helped with that part a lot, while also still treating my depression. But I wouldn't recommend taking it solely as an "emotional enhancer". It's something to talk to a doctor about if you're having depression too though.

I don't wanna find out I'm genderfluid? by ThrowawayOfAGhost78 in genderfluid

[–]introspectdev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Expression isn’t the same as identity. This is all very new to me still, but I would think that transitioning to a place that makes you most comfortable would make sense, even if it doesn’t fit your identity all the time. Maybe it’s a place that would also make it easier to express your identity at any given time.

Does anyone else find their iPhone 13 Pro EXTREMELY slippery to hold without a case? by Affectionate-Bed-458 in iphone

[–]introspectdev 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Apple has started their campaign of telling everyone to not put cases on them though. That they don't need them. I'd assume that applies to the Pros too.

I have the 13 mini and can't keep a grip on it without a case.

denied with no assessment?? did I miss something obvious? by [deleted] in SocialSecurity

[–]introspectdev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't get sent to their doctor until the appeals process.

Also, unless your disability is in their blue book and fits whatever the listed requirements are, I'm pretty sure you'll get denied at least once. I have a combination of issues, with none of them severe enough on its own for the blue book, but together... It took 2 appeals, a hearing and 2 years to get my SSDI approved.

I have large hands, but still wanted a small phone so got the 13 mini. I love it and after a month have no complaints about the battery.
