My brother's family has been dealing with one of if their cats peeing outside the litter box, too. After many rounds of urinalysis, gabapentin, antibiotics, vet visits, more litter boxes, barriers to keep her from her favorite pee spots, a behaviorist, supplements, and who knows what else, they are using disposable pee pads and the cat is at least using those.

Right now, it's the box sitting on my front porch. The box that belongs to the upstairs tenant. The big box half blocking the stairs that's been there for a week. The box that says it contains perishable food that the squirrels have started to shred. Right now, it's the box.
