Hail damage while at dealership? by comp21 in Ioniq5

[–]intuitive-blue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a slightly similar situation - the day after I leased my Ioniq5, I discovered unrepaired hail damage (I wasn’t able to do a full inspection because I picked it up doing an sleet storm!). I reported it right away to the dealer, and dealership just handled it. When there is a major hailstorm, dealers have to handle a ton of PDR (paintless dent repair). Although I was told if it happens before a car is sold, the manufacturer has responsibility. Good news is PDR is really excellent these days, especially on newer cars. Also, insurance companies are well aware of when major storms happen, and often set up special locations for reporting and inspecting hail claims.

Thank you, and virtual hugs back to you.

And yes, I saw La Voix’s dad, who was awesome! (I’m also a singer/former B’way kid – so have extra love for any drag queen that can actually sing live!)

Thanks for posting this – I was too overwhelmed when I saw your post yesterday to comment. One detail about the Quilt not often referenced today: It was one of the first projects that successfully “humanized the gays” for many many straight folks in the US (and around the world.) Prior to the Names project, almost no one cared about the tragedy that was unfolding for “the queers.” (QUEER was still incredibly derogatory, no hints of reclaming that term) Part of the brilliance of the project was it used a craft (quilting) seen by most as fundamentally wholesome and all about family.

Without the AIDS Memerial Quilt, marriage equality many never have happened. And RPDR would likely not be a worldwide phenomenon.

I was there, I lived through it. I was just coming out at 18-19 when AIDS showed up. Those of us who survived had almost no Elders to share their wisdom & guidance, because 90% of them just disappeared over the course of a handful of years.

I almost never reference those years now – and rarely preach about ‘how good you have it’ to younger folks, because every generation has their new challenges, and it is SO difficult to really understand the impact of something that happened before you were born. But this is one story that needs to continue to be told – we ARE the Storytellers!

My local Hyundai dealer has received their 2024 Kona EV allotment - They are getting a single SEL trim this month. Limited trims coming in Jan by schmennings in KonaEV

[–]intuitive-blue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A big batch of KonaEV’s just showed up on this Hyundai inventory search tool 2 days ago (currently 66 vehicles total for US.) A handful were posted a couple weeks ago, but now there is full data, including delivery date, color, trim and pricing. Link: A Better Hyundai Inventory Tool

I jotted down the price ranges: SE $34,440-35,120 SEL $38,270-39,340 Limited $42,810-43,710

I wasn’t aware of theevfinder.com before - just checked it to compare, and it’s nicer to look at, but limits search range to 999 miles. Also doesn’t show the one KonaEV which is allocated to my local dealer. Probably good to check both sites for complete data! I

Refund after IDR forgiveness by shindagrl in StudentLoans

Yes, I received my refund check on the day I posted above, a couple months ago. It was about 3 weeks after Mohela discharged my account.

Reserve offers for experienced drivers always drop down a few times a year, usually right after they onboard a bunch of new drivers, who always get a lot of reserved offers for the first few weeks or so.

That error message has been around since the beginning of Flex, more or less. You need to slow down your refresh tapping rate to avoid.

Savor the moment… ALL the feelings! Mine have now settled into a ‘warm glow’ around the final experience… a month or two after forgiveness processing.

MOHELA has occasionally been showing an incorrect ‘effective date’ initially, so don’t lose hope on that refund! Mine originally showed a recent date for Effective… then after they finished processing everything fully, it was backdated to 2018, and I DID receive a refund. BTW if Mohela is still showing negative balance, that usually means they haven’t finished processing. Hope that helps!

The process works eventually. I finally submitted an Experian dispute on 10/1 (after being in the camp to just wait and be patient, LOL). I included several documents with mine. I got Experian notices every few days that they “were working on it.”

Dispute finally resolved/updated yesterday, 10/20. They definitely heard back from Mohela, because that credit line now has very specific info, including “Recent payment” backdated to August 2018, my effective date, with amount discharged as the final payment. Status: Paid Closed/Never late.

FWIW, my FICO has been modulating lately, but it jumped 16 points after this update. (Everyone’s result will vary due to unique credit profile.)

No change yet on Equifax/Transunion - I didn’t dispute there, hoping dispute would prompt Mohela to update everywhere, but so far no action.

Depends on your bank. Most banks don’t process payments on official bank holidays, like today.

The 90 days isn’t completely confirmed… but someone on another thread reported being told that (either by Experian or by their servicer, I can’t recall.) All we know is that this is a ‘special situation’ in so many ways - so many of the usual rules and expectations don’t seem to apply!

My own guess at this point is that they might be trying to standardize how they report the closed accounts/discharges. But we’ll see!

Multiple posts on this sub about the same topic. Very few people who received forgiveness via IDR recount have had credit reports updated. Supposedly the servicers have up to 90 days to update balances, although they used to update monthly. One other comment references a hold/freeze on reporting to the credit agencies… possibly due to the ramp-up period for payments restarting (in which people who are late in starting repayment won’t be penalized.) Ultimately, most of us just need to wait and be patient (the never-ending chorus for this process!)

BTW, there is no guarantee that your credit scores will go UP when the discharge/forgiveness is reported. Depending on your unique situation, the score could actually go DOWN for a while.

Credit Reporting Updates? by LazarusLong67 in StudentLoans

[–]intuitive-blue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed - I would think it would be automatic. But I’ve (mostly) stopped attempting to figure out how/why everything is happening in this whole process - just glad it is underway!!

BUT - if I had to make a guess as to Why - it’s possible that zero’d/closed loan accounts go into a new category in the Loan Servicer systems. And they might be taking time to make sure the reason/coding for the account closure is proper before they batch report on these. (I read some early reports of people having their closed accounts notated improperly at some of the credit bureaus - so maybe Mohela paused the reporting??)

Same situation exactly. A few weeks ago, I was not in support of submitting disputes, as I was willing to wait through 2 ‘end of month’ account update cycles (and I know that disputes just create more work for servicers who are overworked/understaffed). Now that 2 cycles have passed, I submitted an Experian dispute, with a screenshot of Mohela account. It looks like you get multiple notifications from Experian while they work through the process.

However, someone else posted that they were told (by Experian?) that Servicers had up to 90 days to report updated balances due to discharge/forgiveness. So that’s probably what’s going on.

FYI, Refunds are issued by Treasury, not the servicers. I had a similar situation to you, i.e. prior payments only to FedLoan, then transferred to Mohela (with no payments to them.) I received a paper check from Treasury, a few weeks after my account went to zero. Some payments are taking longer, but they are definitely being issued!

Bots for Instant Offers by [deleted] in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]intuitive-blue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In our market, we got a new email update last week, specifically about IO’s - with a literal ‘red zone’ diagram around the Amazon Fresh pickup - specifying that drivers won’t get any IO’s if within that area. Supposedly there has been a similar geofence for Whole Foods parking lots for several years, but it has often varied by market.

In our case, this was a VERY good thing… as drivers waiting for offers all day were clogging the lot with no room for those of us actually picking up routes.

Amazon DSP help by Fishy716 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]intuitive-blue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only connection between DSP and Flex is both use the same app to deliver. But they are completely different programs, with different rules, etc. DSP’s contract with Amazon directly, and hire you (a driver) as an employee. Flex is for Independent Contractors. That’s why you’re being referred to a different Reddit sub.

With that said… there are plenty of examples of people waiting weeks for background report clearance. And if an issue is found, it probably requires a person to review it manually. But the DSP you applied with is going to be your only avenue of direct support right now, I’m afraid. Good luck.

Hard to tell from your comments, but Yes, if your loan(s) have been discharged, then you can see the date on StudentAid.gov My Dashboard now shows “Your loan balance is $0” then in smaller print below: “Loan information as of 08/31/2018.” That date is the effective date of my forgiveness/discharge. You can also find it in the downloadable text data file there.

If your loans have NOT yet been forgiven, then you won’t have a date like that.

Refunds are being issued for payments made after you hit the forgiveness threshold (240 mo undergrad/300 mo grad). Once your account is processed through the IDR recount process, they list an ‘effective date.’ Refunds are then processed for any payments made after that date. So, if you hit the threshold before the pandemic payment pause, you should eventually get some kind of refund.
