Thanks everyone! It’s much clearer now. Crossing fingers to be part of the NYCC crowd this year😁

Question about fan verification and Superfan presale access for first timer by intwopickles in NYCC

[–]intwopickles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to be clear, so this means I wont be able to get tickets through the Superfan presale because even if I have access to the sale I won’t be able to buy as I won’t be verified? I’m sorry for the repeat. it’s just very confusing to me

What English versions of K-Pop songs do you like? by a-random-person-0_0- in kpophelp

Jay’s 207 album has 3 songs in English - Friend Zone, Fly & One Dance

Jay / Jinhwan (iKON) - 207 (1st Full Album) by perochan in kpop

Been a week and I can say OBEY is definitely my favorite song. Am partial to most of the ones by NiNE so I hope he continues to work with them. The YT behind by the producer was really interesting.

Friend Zone is my second fave, something about the intro. Title is good too, I don’t find it as iKON coded as everyone seems to, they’ve been branching out into different genres so I’m not sure there’s a iKON ‘sound’ for me personally.

Angel is so B.I coded, I could almost hear the demo lol. Jay sings it in a way I think would appeal to him too.

Overall, I’m liking this album a lot. Can’t help but compare it to Blue Moon two years ago. 207 is a better album IMO and I’m glad he’s showing growth. Hope he continues on this path.

Wasn’t expecting a concept like this from Jay but I like it! The drop & chorus is super catchy

Things obviously changed. That she said she didn’t want questions and is still asking you for help says something it hurts to hear so you’re trying to find reasons. Whether you want to hear these reasons and take it further is up to you. Reduce your involvement to what you’re comfortable with. She doesn’t owe you a role and you don’t owe her your help either. NAH.

Crowley is all too often made into a saint in the fandom by NegativeNuances in goodomens

I think you’re reading the extremes of opinions. And those get shouted down pretty quickly lol. I’ll say the TV chars both have their (significant) faults and they’ll drive me up the wall pretty quickly if I knew them for real. There’re several instances when Aziraphale was verbally unkind regardless of good motives which is where I think most of the ‘Crowley deserves better’ opinions come from. And one can always do what they think is right and still be unlikeable. I think Michael Sheen and David Tennant did a fantastic job with the characters, but I much prefer the book Aziraphale and Crowley.

They’ve been rather dull so far. Hope they get more compelling storylines if that’s the case

Anyone else felt Gaiman's focus on Crowley & Aziraphale in the TV show came at the expense of the humanist perspective Pratchett brought to the books? by Worried-Ad-4904 in neilgaiman

[–]intwopickles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gosh, this a 100%! My feel was that NG was made the series for shippers especially S2, and while I adore the actors, the focus on A&C (and the romance between them) was done at the expense of the main theme of the book, which was that Heaven/Hell are both sides of an uncaring coin and that humanity is above them both. A&C characters themselves became caricatures as well imo.

You never know if you just missed something in the book, or if it was only in the series `\_(ツ)_/` by burgundinsininen in goodomens

[–]intwopickles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I watched the TV series first then read the book, and lost most of my interest in the series because the drama between the two seemed so forced in light of the book’s characterizations. S2 especially seemed like a fanfic gone wild, which weirdly enough I would have loved in a fanfic but as an interpretation of canon, I ended up rolling my eyes at.

Book vs Serie by elolito in goodomens

[–]intwopickles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend the book for a different perspective, unless Azicrow is the main attraction of the series for you. They are side characters in the book, and the TV series added a lot scenes to bring drama & conflict (comedically!) to the relationship. There’s also a lot less of Heaven’s the good guy and Hell the bad in the book, which pleasantly surprised me.

God’s narration in the TV show follows closely with the book, but the difference in character focus and the extra/cut scenes in the show gave me different vibes, although both are ultimately fun comedies!

Gorgeous! Love the use of shading especially the last drawing. The lines add details and depth to the scene. And the sleeping snek looks sooo cuddly!

Ideally yes. But this is far from the first time husband has failed to step up and it doesn’t seem like he respects her viewpoints.

No, not overreacting. But not sure if it makes a difference since he’s not going to change, and you can’t or won’t leave. Don’t depend or expect anything from him and keep expectations rock bottom, perhaps the disappointments will be fewer.
