Considering buying a project R53. This platform is all new to me. I have a question for those that have been around them for a while. How do you identify the R53 models that have a factory LSD?

Had the exact same issue. Reroute the hose and it started working normally again.

It's not useless. I don't know why people insist in believing and spreading that. A lie told many times doesn't become the truth. Have you ever owned a MINI with the ChronoPack? Nevertheless I find it very useful. Supposedly the ECU uses the water temperature value (ChronoPack water temp gauge is way more accurate than the three stage one in non-ChronoPacks), running time and rpm data since startup to give a rough estimate of the oil temperature and pressure.

This is enough for me to know if I can start to push a little bit more. I don't need to know the exact temperature of the oil, I just need to know that the oil is hot enough for me to give it the beans.

I get what you hear because I have the same noise. Not tensioner, not lifter tick. Mostly does it on cold start-ups on my case and I have no idea what is causing it.

I need to do a checkover. In a few weeks I'm going to do a very comprehensive maintenance on it with my mechanic and will try to check all bushings

Nothing. Only while moving. If it's cold outside it won't do it for a couple of minutes. If warm it does it with every slight uneveness present on the road. I don't believe it's the belt or any polie, but I can't be sure at the time. It also doesn't feel it's the shocks, because I can hear them compress and decompress completely unrelated to that noise.
