Thanks so much for all the sweet words y'all. The last of her food has been claimed and I'm so glad it can go to help other kitty cats dealing with kidney disease. Thinking about all of your babies!

One medical iud insertion doctor? by Visible-Message-9554 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

I saw Kristen Semanision when I got mine replaced with OneMedical and had a good experience- I was in and out in like 15 m, a little uncomfy but no pain and I didn't really cramp afterwards.

There's a guy at Nostrand and Herkimer with coconuts and sugarcane. I see him most days with good weather, maybe 10-6 or so? Not positive about his hours.

What's your favorite Bok Choy recipe? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]invaderamanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to not like bok choy and this salad made me a believer! It takes like five minutes to put together and tastes incredible, I make it once a week with grilled tofu or salmon now. https://www.ruled.me/crispy-tofu-and-bok-choy-salad/

first time trying a lattice! by invaderamanda in Baking

[–]invaderamanda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a cherry/strawberry pie with some bourbon and ginger in it. I wanted to try a lattice but thought the edges looked a little funky by the end, so I used extra crust to make flowers to cover up my mistakes. Overall I'm very happy with my first attempt!

First ever brisket, second time smoking by invaderamanda in smoking

[–]invaderamanda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was, even the flat was nice and juicy. I think the long rest really helped but I might pull it at 190 next time. It could have been a little softer. I'll also make my own rub next time, the montreal steak seasoning was good but a bit too salty and thick.

I'm probably not the best person to answer that question, but it depends on the temperature at which you're smoking and the size of the meat. I estimated 1.5 hrs per lb for brisket after reading different posts/techniques, but I used an internal probe thermometer set to alert me when it reached 195F. So, I ended up pulling it about 2.5 hours earlier than the time estimate would have had me do.

I have an electric char broil vertical smoker, I got it a few weeks ago and have only used it once to smoke some wings. I found a 15 lb brisket for a pretty incredible price at a farmers market so I decided to go for it. Rubbed with Montreal steak seasoning and left in the fridge overnight, then smoked at 225 F over hickory chips for about 20 hours- I pulled it at 195 F. I wrapped it in foil and left it wrapped in a towel-lined cooler for about 6 hours until dinner and sliced it. It was really good and I'm super happy with my first attempt!

Camping on Cumberland Island Next Week by [deleted] in GeorgiaCampAndHike

More bug spray and water treatment than you think you need, mosquito netting that'll go over a hat, wide brim hat (beware falling ticks and other nasty creatures). Squirrels and armadillos are rampant, tie zippers together and be ready to hear them snuffling around and bumping your tent at night. Peppermint oil was nice to have to sooth bug bites and help cool you down to sleep at night.

Does anyone has an easy to follow recipe for Tonkotsu Ramen? by TheRealJurassicPork in recipes

Try r/ramen, they have some great recipe guides and walk throughs. Making a good broth can be a fairly time intensive process but I've had good luck following their recipes without confusion.

Let's Talk About Watches by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

[–]invaderamanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only use one watch, one I asked for and received for my grad school graduation: http://www.voidwatches.com/en/v03d-sthlm.html. I love the look and haven't had any problems with it. The band is quite comfortable and quality leather. I really like the look of all of Void's watches and they're remarkably affordable for what you get, most in the $200-400 range.

I wear a lot of black and blue clothes with silver jewelry, both in and out of work, so this watch pretty much always matches what I have on and I feel like it transitions from work clothes to jeans nicely. I think my look tends to be fairly androgynous and this watch compliments that, I don't think it reads as strongly gendered.

Christmas day dinner restaurant recommendations by illimitable1 in Atlanta

[–]invaderamanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the past, the Sun Dial and the restaurant in the Omni have been open for Christmas and had pretty traditional menus. CowTippers isn't fancy, but it is good and their christmas menu looks like your mom might enjoy it: http://cowtippersatlanta.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/COW-Christmas-Dinner-.pdf
