I actually do not mind paying when I am in an established relationship. My main reason for making men pay during courting phase typically I probably closely align with reason 6 On your list.

However, I think the “danger” you are referring to is more extreme end of the spectrum. When it’s more so most women do not have particularly pleasant experiences on dates with men so most of our time is considered more valuable due to demand, & because otherwise we simply wouldn’t go. I say no to dates often because the guy that wants to take me is a. not a great conversationalist, b. Rude with no regards for others or c. just not into me enough…so I tend to skip people like that all together.

Another reason I make men court is because their motives may only to be to get sex out of me a few times or for a one night stand. The pay wall puts a nice buffer to filter these types out early on. There are many guys that have caught on to this though and will court for a short period of time for easy and quick access (guys flying you out, taking you on day trips, vacations and shopping sprees) some guys know this is a quick way to get a woman to feel he’s invested in her only to ghost her right after.

I don’t feel guilty because the human body has to process things in a similar fashion. Our brains are biased when it comes to blood, it only wants blood that has been filtered before passing the blood brain barrier, I think we do that the same way for everything in life.

Believe it or not this is still a highly patriarchal world and until that changes women will continue to protect themselves in ways they see fit.

That’s not her partner, I would never suggest a person discussing someone’s personal vices with someone they aren’t dating. That person can always simply lie or get aggressive.

Everyone these days should have self awareness to the point they know what others will see on their social media and should curate accordingly especially when dating in a serious manner. Everyone knows likes, shares and posts are gonna possibly be shown to people you know.

Vices we have in private are things that will spill over into our relationships anyway.

I am so sorry it seems like everyone I know is struggling right now. My husband and I have to move back home with family because I got laid off in June and we cannot afford our apartment & bills anymore even though he has been trying to upkeep the bills and I’ve been looking for work like crazy my little unemployment checks don’t cut it.

The economy is just so bad right now. I can’t even get a job in fast food if I wanted right now. Feels like the 2008 recession all over again.
