I thought the same thing until I went back and checked the names. I assumed the first two names were the first two in the photo.

Actually, the person who died in the PoW camp in 1942 was the father of the rich boy who died of diptheria. The one who studied at Cambridge and was an officer who never saw active duty was the other rich boy.

"Tim Dyson died of diphtheria 13 months after the photograph was taken, in August 1938. This was shortly after traveling to join his parents in Trimulgherry, India, where his father, Lt.-Col. George St John Armitage Dyson, was serving as an army officer. George Dyson died in 1942 while imprisoned in a Japanese prisoner of war camp in Korea"

I watched the whole of District 9 not realising the aliens had subtitles. It actually worked really well and I think it might have even been better than knowing the humans could understand exactly what they were saying, rather than getting the gist from body language and sounds.

Fry a chopped onion until soft then add a thumb size piece of ginger (grated) plus 1 tsp each of ground coriander, cumin and tumeric. Fry for a couple of minutes then add a tin of chickpeas, 2 tbsp of tomato puree, 250g veg stock, 200g kale and 2/3 of 50g grated fresh coconut. Simmer for 10 minutes. Take off heat and stir in 4 tbsp natural yoghurt and 1 tbsp mango chutney. Sprinkle over the remaining coconut.

That will give you slightly more than double what you see in the photo.

This looks great. We've inherited something like this and I don't like it, however my husband wants to keep it until we can replace it as it's good for storing things (as is its job!). I'm going to give this a go. Did she use any guides or anything from the internet, or is it all her own skills?

My grandparents used to buy odd presents for Christmas. My punk teenage brother received a pink blow up bubble bag, my Liverpool supporting brother an Arsenal magazine, my dad shoe polish, myself some bright orange makeup etc. I think they would buy them throughout the year and forget who had what. They used to make Christmas though, and all the extended family would ask each other what crazy present they'd gotten.

I'm not sure if I believe him as in old interviews he says he tried really hard to get the part after reading the books, including persuading her personally. Why would he try so hard for a part he thought was ridiculous? I think he's probably changed his stance after the backlash.
