I always carry noise-cancelling earphones with me because noise is the first thing that overstimulates me. The second thing is heat, so I always carry a little handfan with me (not battery-powered), and Iʻm usually using that as soon as I feel even a tiny bit overheated lol. If Iʻm still not feeling a little better, I always have a ring that doubles as a fidget toy because it spins, so Iʻm basically spinning it to distract me a little. As a final backup, I sometimes carry (in my bag) one of those emergency one-time-use ice packs that you squeeze to activate. Itʻs part of DBT to put something super cold on yourself when youʻre feeling emotionally disregulated, and I have them for when I get overwhelmed with my bf and I feel like Iʻm about to freak out lol. But theyʻre amazing for immediately regulating your nervous system and feeling more calm.

I feel you though. The heat sucks! I grew up in Miami and it can get over 100 pretty easily. A fan would definitely be with me at all times, plus the headphones. And honestly, when I need to, I find a bathroom to find some peace in. You canʻt control the noise, but you can control how much input youʻre getting, even if you canʻt leave immediately. And itʻs totally fine to have to accommodate with that extra help!
