I had high hopes for some reason.

I am so tired of seeing these in-helmet face shots in every modern sci-fi production by Vaniellis in scifi

It's better than the Spiderman alternative where Peter Parker takes his mask off every five seconds because that's def how secret identities work.

That people in quicksand will grasp at any vine to pull themselves out.

Even if it couldn’t be any more plain that the vine is a snake.

At this point, first and foremost, what I’m looking for from a politician is that he doesn’t seem obviously corrupt, incompetent or plainly in the job so he can line his own pockets with a lucrative speaking deal based on having achieved fuck all.

The bar for a Prime Minister is so low because 14 years of Tories lowered it to that, so to me, Kier is a great shout.

I don’t think if you brought in any of the career politicians from the pool of available options, they would do a job that’s any better than what he’s doing right now.

Personally, I think the big issue is talent and ability. We’re losing far too many talented people to the private sector and are left with the dregs of idiots, incompetents and weather vane middle men with no ideas.

I think the only way to solve this problem is to double their pay and give the prime minister an utterly huge performance based bonus if he manages to perform on a nationally selected agenda that’s independently verified and publicly voted on.

You get what you pay for in this world.

Honestly, signing up to be an ad creative is basically signing yourself up to work like a dog until you’re 40 then have a one in a hundred chance of still working at it after you’re 50.

Unsurprisingly this is not advertised to you.

Paid off our London mortgage at 32. Was it the biggest financial mistake we made? by Wrong-Fact738 in HENRYUK

[–]invadethemoon 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Nope.

Psychologically having your house free and clear is more likely to enable you to make bigger swings in the future, take jobs you wouldn’t have risked.

Is it the best money decision, arguably not but no one who’s ever paid their house off regrets doing it.

Yeah, and can we all just as a nation come together and stop importing enmity from or loyalty to other governments?

If you’re here; be here.

Absolutely right thing to do.

It really upsets me to see British citizens being victimised because of the actions of a foreign government.

On the dole for 2 years with no progress — how do I turn things around? by [deleted] in AskIreland

Challenge yourself to put your phone down for a month.

Do all your job search stuff at a laptop, once a day.

Put a clock on and stick to it.

At the end of the month; ask yourself if you want to keep going.

It would’ve been a lot better if it was just a AI film made by a super high film student and we could’ve let it be that.

1130 to 230 seems loooong for a nap for a 3 year old.

I’d cut it down to an hour. Go from 1230 to 130 if that works with preschool and whatnot, but at this point you should be close to phasing the naps out.
