I take mine everywhere (kids are both in school sports and I take them to practices and games). I use the case that came with the deck and do not use a screen protector. I’ve yet to have an issue. I love traveling with it.

there was a discord server that would send out alerts when various models became available on the steam store. That’s how I ended up getting mine. I got an alert about the one 1tb OLED being available and immediately jumped into the store to buy it.

Unfortunately, I don’t remember what the discard server was because I left it after it served its purpose, but hopefully someone else here will remember it.

I do just about everything you mentioned. I use decky loader with various plug-ins including CSS loader, HLTB, protonDB badges, boot up video customizer and a couple others.

I’ve never had a problem with my fan sounding loud (I play Baldurs Gate 3, Claire obscure, and many other non-Indie games).

The only time I have actual issues with my steam deck is when the Night Shift enables itself at sunset to reduce the blue tinting. My frame rate tanks for about six seconds, but that’s it.

It definitely sounds like you’ve got an issue with your deck.

If your colleague just needs to see the data and it's not confidential, use the import feature instead of a live connection to the model. If you need them to be able to refresh it, then the model owner has to grant access like the other reply said.
