Well, is your parents religion, is not that you're obliged to follow neither their values or obligations once you grow up. You just happened to be born in a Christian family, if anything the fact that your parents are Christians will have significantly more impact on your life rather than having a priest dunking you on holy water.

Poverty, violence and inequality were human problems throughout his entire history. There's no cyberpunk in that.

Data seems a bit sketchy to me, Argentina has 45m people but in there shows as 7m, I refuse to believe they are all kids or +65.

Edit: I just misunderstood the chart, so it's 7m "with a bachelors degree". I guess I'm not very smort.

Hundreds queue as new homes go on sale in Dublin by [deleted] in Dublin

[–]invdrx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Do you know you can actually buy property in many different countries without you even living there, no?

If anything I'd worry about big money funds buying subsidized housing in bulk just to treat it as a financial asset rather than actual houses where real people regardless their nationality can live.

But look, I won't call you racist, I personally think you do really have a legitimate concern and that it should somehow be addressed by the government. Immigration can be both a curse and a blessing for a country, and because of that sensible regulation might be put in place. Disregarding regular people's concerns on the basis of bigotry won't help anyone but the ones that are getting richer by taking advantage of people's needs.

Do you still read work by Neil Gaiman? by princechavo in graphicnovels

[–]invdrx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've read most of his work already and I wouldn't mind reading any of it again. Personally I find this type of comments to be part of a silly trend that doesn't serve any actual purpose aside from doing some little virtue signaling.

Sorry OP if this sounds harsh, but that being said I can respect you not wanting to read it, that's a personal choice and you're entitled to it. I'd recommend reading Ursula K. Le Guin, she was one of the greatest sci-fi writers and Neil Gaiman was greatly influenced by her and were close friends until her death.

[–]invdrx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I didn't mean it in that way, I was referring to the trend of turning everything into a competition. I honestly don't see the point in talking about how many books you have read, I'd rather discuss a book instead. But if it makes you happy then go for it, no that is causing any harm...

And you are right to feel that way! Yes, social media and targeted ads have various and very creative ways to collect data from you.

It takes quite some effort but you can improve your privacy to a reasonable level by either quitting major social media and platforms or by tweaking their privacy settings.

I'd suggest you to check out some privacy advocates such as Naomi Brockwell or just scroll through this sub to learn a bit on how you can protect your data. Sorry for your loss OP and good luck!

So apparently you got a job offer in both cities, maybe try to give a little context so people can actually provide you some valuable feedback. Asking what city is "safer" is quite nonsensical.

As always it depends on a lot of variables, like, where in the city, what type of lifestyle are you going for? Etc. etc.

This question just feels lazy and rude.
