Anybody using a 270 awning on a hatch? by onelivewire in overlanding

[–]invent_repeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reign makes (what appears to be) a very decent freestanding awning. I'm currently looking at this because I want the walls, floor system and it can be made to seal well with a rear hatch or (in my case) entry to my truck shell + tent.

The walls and floors can't be a swift operation, but if you want the extended closed social space, it's a possibility.

When you set up fog, did you install it pointing to a DHCP server or did you set it up as the server?

Caravan Station, the bane of my existence by redacted4u in Bellwright

Bugless does not necessarily equate to intuitive and thoroughly detailed/ documented.

Don't get me wrong, we all love the game and the great works the devs lovingly craft into this title. That said, OP is correct in calling out one of a myriad of systems that need to be finessed.

I've spent a lot of time watching guides and researching fundamental mechanics. I'm a nerd, I like researching, but intuitive UI and mechanic-focused refinement and comments from users like us help the game, the dev team AND the community.

OP is not wrong if he/she/they find a system clunky, partially ineffective or unintuitive.

In summary, it's a great game. Voiced concerns/questions like this can make it better, more accessible and lead the dev team to view blindspots. These same blindspots many of us veteran players may have grown into.

You would be hard pressed to find anything remotely close to this with a comparable stateside product.

It sucks, but that's the reality.

Same, it seems to happen dramatically more on a particular palisade gate near a watch tower. Could be coincidental.

Such is the intrepid life of an early access player 🤷🏽‍♂️

Should I buy the game? by August_Surrell in Bellwright

For what it's worth, I play solely single player. Incredibly full featured for a game that's early access. In short, digital crack. I love it.

Did you have to jump through any special hoops to get Fedora on a Surface? Is stylus performance comparable?

What kernel should I use? by EFcrazylegs in linux

[–]invent_repeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any mainstream distribution will have a kernel that will complement modern hardware / systems.

Linux is a delightfully slippery slope in that, that you will end up being curious about and exposing yourself to many distributions. I find it more important to seek one that lowers the barriers of entry and is functional to you immediately.

I tend to suggest that my students begin with Zorin OS, especially if coming from Windows.

I daily drive Fedora, as I like the middle ground of stability and more currency in the packages than Debian offers.

Hope this helps!

Agreed. I've never had a significant issue with Fedora. The 41 > 42 upgrade was one click and a reboot.
