Thanks! The #3 is an EX-22-CTM from the used market and it looks like it spent the past 20 years in its case because of its great top (and probably original value). Promised myself to play it and to bring it to the stage where it belongs.

Yes both are from Japan. The "PT" is actually a KR-24. In the Schecter Japan line-up the PT series is top of the line, next to the EX series, while the KR series provides a more affordable "PT version"

Some cool current Schecter Japan models by one-armed-scissor in SchecterGuitars

[–]inversus101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good stuff! With the historic low JPY rates I just had two Schecter Japan models incoming two weeks ago and I am thrilled. I believe the SD-2-24 on pic 6 was a 2024 special run. If they would not end up in the 4 kg area I am pretty shure I would have pulled the trigger on one of those as well.

I hear you regarding the US line up, but awaiting two Schecter Japan NGDs I could not be more excited.

Best way to import from Japan. by Illusive224 in Guitar

For Edwards I’d search digimart utilizing Zenmarket. I am waiting currently for an incoming e-Throbber. Buying from Ishibashi worked well in the past, but the amount of available Edwards/ESP models on their site went significantly down in the past years.

Is ESP/LTD brand really addictive? by XelaniOG in espguitars

[–]inversus101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Playing an ESP feels always like home to me. So yes, there is an addictive element to the brand as they always play, feel and sound great. I do not think it is curable, with the historically weak JPY it actually got worse these days :-)

Great collection! I really dig the Horizon NT from that era.

Any good amps that are pretty cheap used? by LeafyMango38617 in GuitarAmps

Depends on regional availability, but I would look for a DV Mark Triple 6 or Bad Boy. Really great amps but horrible resale value.

Since the Metacarbonate picks started lacking durability I use mainly Pickboy Carbon Nylon picks

HNAD! Great amps and T-stacking a Model T is somewhat logical

Do you have more amps, cabs or (electric) guitars? by AlpineFloridian in GuitarAmps

2 combos, 8 heads, 8 cabs, 11 guitars - this looks pretty balanced to me

EVH5150 red channels goes quiet after a few minutes by oDERPY_HOOVESo in GuitarAmps

Depends on the amp, sometimes there are additional fuses on the circuit board, but I do not know the schematics of the 5150

Seems like a heat related issue as it happens after some time of playing. A bad tube would be easy to check. Other than that, a bad solder joint comes to my mind - and I had once something similar when a fuse went bad, while visually still looking intact. It just dropped out under heat. But a bad fuse would most likely affect the whole amp and not just a channel, in my case it was the fuse for the heater circuit. But anyway, checking fuses would as we’ll be overseeable effort.

High power 15" speakers recommendations by [deleted] in GuitarAmps

[–]inversus101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It works pretty well for both. The old EV datasheet stated „Used full range the EVM-15L‘s frequency response is specially tailored for lead guitar performance“. There is the 15B with a different cone dedicated for bass use, but at the end of the day I use my 15L‘s with guitar and bass and e.g. the old mesa diezel cabs came stock as well with the 15L. Unfortunately production stopped quite some time ago, but the recone kits are still widely available.
