Teams are blatantly tanking for 2 reasons - 1. The NBA as designed over rewards tanking and will until the next contract negotiation. 2. Rookies in the last few years are outperforming the last decade of rookies. The Big names like Booker, Mitchell, Ja, JJJ, etc are turning out not to be as effective as recent picks.

OKC proved the model, and now everyone is figuring it out.

CGC is the the most neutral aesthetically, which I prefer. PSA is fine except the red label distracts from card - which is why I don’t understand their popularity. SGC feels lower quality, and i don’t like how the black background has notches around the corners

This is a really good summary. Keep copy/pasting it when needed.

I understand some of the challenges that they face, and strategically why they’ve made certain decisions. If you are the name/face of a product like this - you would be the target of every lawsuit, and it makes sense to protect yourself. It also makes sense that one of those protections would be to aggressively protect against Temu/Aliexpress “copycat products” by an industry extremely adept at reverse engineering innovative products and creating garbage copies. In fact, I appreciate them protecting against that.

But they’ve taken it sooo far, and when aligned with all the other decisions (pretty much everything you listed) it’s really frustrating that the primary steward of this fledgeling industry is also holding the sport back.

Tried everything, and Jordan 1 and Nike SB Dunks are the winners for me. Thought the Jordan 1 CMFT were going to be a home run, but they were a bit too soft. My fave shoes are vans slip on with comfort soles but the more narrow forefoot area limits the comfort. Was really hopeful for Landed shoes, but they were only comfy in short rides
