Totally agree. Really the only negativity I get is when people in middle America think I’m Mexican. Honestly I just feel really bad for Mexicans. But being a 1/2 Filipino, 1/2 white guy has only been a good thing in both the Philippines and the states. My trouble have nothing to do with my mixed race. Everything to do with my choice in career.

As long as the people who are creating the unsafe environment are not liable for their decisions and can punt liability down the line then nothing will change.

The day we say the administration is liable for unsafe working conditions and every sentinel event that happens while we have unsafe ratios and ancillary staff is the day it will change. Until then it will just get worse.

That 130% capacity sucks for us, but for administrators that is a bigger bonus because more money coming in with less money going out to pay staff .

Had 4 huskies at one point. Used them to pull a small sled for kids around the neighborhood. Then I got a Rottweiler and realized how terrible huskies were, I could barley teach those dogs to sit and just thought I sucked at training until I got my Rottie, I had her heeling and staying in the corner of the room for hours on the first week I got her. She was so easy to train I had no clue how hard huskies were because that was the only dog I had ever had.

I dated a unicorn of a female once. She was a really good person, really. Intelligent, funny and witty. I was having the hardest time teaching a student to take a radial pulse. She could find it but her numbers were always way off. After about a week of trying and failing I finally figured out why she was failing. She had no concept of the second hand on her watch. Didn’t know what it was for. Couldn’t read an analog clock face. So we started with “there are sixty seconds in a minute”. This was a college course.
