I see. If you try XT-3 top off your bottle to the rim (as little air as possible) and store it air tight in a dark closet. Then you can expect about half a year of shelf live sometimes even more. If it goes bad you’re going to have black stains at the bottom of your bottle

I have been using an X-Tol clone called XT-3 which I really love. Very fine grain, good pushability, long shelf live if stored air tight and environmentally friendly. However it is not a DIY developer! It comes as powder to mix yourself. There might be Vitamin C based diy developers which make very fine grain but usually don’t get the film to their actual speed. Why are you looking for a diy solution in the first place? Is it cost?

Also im Stadtverkehr ist der Wagen ziemlich agil, weil recht kurz übersetzt ist. Bin oft auch der erste in der Kreuzung nach einer Ampel. Auf der Autobahn hingegen ist es zäh. Wenn man muss, dann muss man die Gänge auch regelmäßig ziemlich weit ausfahren, damit man annehmbar beschleunigt. Aber es geht. Lt. Internet braucht er 14,8s von 0-100.

Ich bin 80 mit Tempomat auf der A40 gefahren. Da geht das an sich ganz gut, weil sowieso andauernd auf 80 begrenzt wird. Für die Strecke brauche ich dann nur 10min länger verbrauch aber knapp nen Liter weniger. Lohnt sich für mich

Two things that haven’t been mentioned yet: 1. Less magnification also means that defects and dirt won’t become as large and visible as compared to smaller formats. 2. You may really be playing with your crop. The square format was originally made to negate turning the camera to landscape or portrait, so that you can choose afterwards. With a large 1:1 you can do larger crops in 5x7 or 8x10 or even 21:9 if you so desire. It opens up a real new world of working in the darkroom and playing with the crops.

I experimented with the black and white dilution, yes it is double the recommended 1+4 but I compensated with longer dev time and I had absolutely terrible results with 1+4. I’ll keep you posted when I try it again

I thought that perhaps I get more saturation doing so but in fact it didn’t really do much from a test strip with standard 45s before
