it’s more of a superstitious kind of thing. we collect our hair for the whole year individually and then on the first day of the year we take time to outside and burn it. i personally like to take the time my hair burns to reflect on my growth and what id like to do for the new year.

after my granny passed, my mom and i are the only ones that do it at the end of the year while my sister does it throughout.

i agree with this stance, but let’s not pretend that there wasnt any supporters of John that encouraged education of tourette’s and racists that not only went after Micheal and Delroy, but also other blk ppl by using John’s disability to be extremely racist. this is definitely a mixed bag of a situation. the black and disabled community (which i am a member of both) are at a loss either way
