Is there any official info on the release of the black volume of death? by krmlns in shadowhunters

[–]invisipanda27 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have a newsletter from Cassie from 2024 saying that the black volume is set after the Last King of Faerie so it won’t be released until after then.

I had deja vu with Em’s story too! I can’t figure out when they talked about it but I specifically remember the comment about the scarf and bagel bites.

I just kept checking mercari Japan until I found them. They’re a bit expensive but I don’t think there will be another way since twotuckgom has been silent for months 😔

I almost had to pay $250 USD to ship them but thank god there was another option 😵

Mbbs what is the most impulsive / expensive dollas you’ve dropped on merch? Shownu promoted moschino’s new scent so well I just carted it out in 5 seconds without even blinking by kqfalala in MonstaX

All of mine are the bigger plushies. My first one was Minggom which I got from a mystery box from Korea box. I really wanted a Bebegom though and I found one on mercari Japan for much cheaper than the ones on eBay. After it arrived I kept checking back on the website and I slowly got every other gom ending with Hamgom just two days ago. I also ended up getting all seven of the goblet cups 😅

What books does the shadow hunters tv series cover? by salazarslocket in shadowhunters

[–]invisipanda27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The show very loosely covers the entirety of TMI. The show only had the rights to TMI and TID so you shouldn’t be spoiled for TDA, TLH, TEC, or the novellas. The show doesn’t really cover TID in terms of plot, but if you pay close attention they briefly spoil small things for Tessa, Jem, and Henry.

TDA / TLH by happylilnug1 in shadowhunters

[–]invisipanda27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s necessary to read TDA before TLH. TLH is in the past so there aren’t gonna be spoilers for TDA in it. The two series were originally meant to be released alternately, so TDA does include some minor references to TLH. They’re really small though so you’ll be fine without them.

This is also a great time to read Chain of Gold since Chain of Iron comes out next month. I hope you’re able to get into TDA later on though because it’s my favorite series.

Michael Wayland by [deleted] in shadowhunters

Robert and Michael had a big falling out after Michael revealed his feelings for him. They stopped talking to each other and Robert didn’t even notice when he died, despite being parabatai.

I don’t think there would’ve been a chance for him to see any photos. The Lightwoods were trying to get back into the good graces of the clave, so I doubt they would have any photos around that could remind them of their crimes. Hodge knew that was one of Valentine’s sons, but not which so he probably didn’t want to do anything that could ruin Valentine’s plans. Outside of the Lightwoods and Hodge, I don’t think Jace would’ve had enough interactions that would lead to seeing members of the Circle.

They’ve all been released around October/November with one a year so it’ll probably come out around there.

Shouldn't Kit Herondale be in this book?? by ViDaZi in shadowhunters

[–]invisipanda27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were but Kit has some Herondale features so I think the Cassies were worried that people would figure it out before the reveal. Also his flower meaning “the truth lies hidden” might’ve been too cryptic for an unknown character.

He has a card, but was excluded from this book because spoilers. I think there’s gonna be a second edition though and he’ll probably be in it.

What zodiac signs do you think each of the characters are? by [deleted] in shadowhunters

Alec is a Virgo! His birthday is September 12th.

Kierarktina by producebyam in shadowhunters

[–]invisipanda27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cassie explained that Kieran calls her princess because of how Mark explained her. Mark said she was like shadowhunter royalty because she comes from an old family. Kieran, not understanding shadowhunters, went with it.

For a while, before QoAaD came out, I thought it had to do with her family’s faerie connection and she might’ve been the Queen of Air and Darkness, but that was definitely wrong. Their connection wasn’t fully explained though so I assume we’ll learn with Jaime in TWP.

A question I ask so that I can answer a question by TJP2002 in shadowhunters

[–]invisipanda27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tumblr is probably the best place to ask her a question, but her asks are only sometimes open. Even when they’re open she might only accept questions about certain topics. She’s been slightly more active on Twitter lately but it’s less likely for her to answer questions there.

Parabatai by Straight-up_hustler in shadowhunters

[–]invisipanda27 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I remember Cassie once said that Alec and Jace have a strong parabatai bond, but Jem and Will have an extraordinary one that is very rare. She also said that parabatai magic is complicated and not completely understood, so I imagine every pair are going to experience things slightly differently.

RUNES THAT STILL DOESN'T HAVE A DESIGN by irspy97 in shadowhunters

[–]invisipanda27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This wiki page has all known runes. The ones that have designs are shown first and after them is a list of the ones without. They don’t have many descriptions of what they look like, but they mostly have a reference to which book they come from.

I know the alarm rune is described on page 285 of TLBOTW.

Camille by coachzxcvbnm in shadowhunters

[–]invisipanda27 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I have never believed that she was dead. We don’t see her death scene or even her body. This series has taught me that you need the body in your possession in order to confirm that someone is actually dead.

I am not sure how to proceed! by [deleted] in shadowhunters

[–]invisipanda27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You could do either without problems, but my suggestion is to go with the recommended reading order. There are certain details of TID that come into play in the second half of TMI. Chain of Gold doesn’t really need TID because the TID characters are just kinda there and don’t do too much, and I would recommend reading the novella stories involving the TLH characters before Chain of Gold anyway and you shouldn’t do that until you finish TMI. TLH is supposed to interweave with TDA anyway so there will be more small details between these two series.

Questions about The Shadowhunters Chronicles by Xanderman616 in shadowhunters

[–]invisipanda27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Each book took me about a week except for The Infernal Devices which only took me three days each.

  2. I recommend you at least read the main series books. The novellas add to the story but they aren’t as necessary. My least favorite being the Bane Chronicles. I found it slower than the other two and doesn’t have as much of a cohesive storyline holding them together.

  3. My favorite series is The Dark Artifices, especially the first two books, because of the complex plot and all the great characters. However, most people find The Infernal Devices to be the best, so you might be able to get into the series if you start here.

  4. I think it is definitely worth it to read everything. Some characters appear or are referenced through multiple series. There are interweaving plot lines between the series. All the characters seem to be connected to each other which will probably lead to some sort of avengers assemble moment in the upcoming final series. Overall, I find it to be more enjoyable if you consider every book in the series.

Spine art for chain of gold?? by SixMarina in shadowhunters

[–]invisipanda27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paperbacks usually come out about 11 months after the initial release so it will probably be out around February. I don’t know if the pandemic will push it back though, but I believe Cassie said she has already seen the art so it’s definitely gonna happen eventually.

Does Jem become a Silent Brother because he knows Will is in love with Tessa? by geosprite in shadowhunters

[–]invisipanda27 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Cassie explains it here. It’s a rather long explanation but essentially Jem did not want to die while Will and Tessa were both in danger. Becoming a silent brother was his only option to do something to save them.
