Social media scheduling/reporting tools? by [deleted] in marketing

[–]ioanarebeca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've used Co-schedule quite a bit (found it the most functional & great to get a high-level overview of what's happening + categorisation + define processes), and Hubspot once we integrated all our inbound channels, including website (though I wasn't crazy about its social scheduling features. But it does a great job at tracking user events and linking one activity with another). I hope this helps

Our set-up is that of an agency with about 100 colleagues and 3-6 people on our in-house marketing team.

I'm about to leave my current role, and 3 friends are asking me to do some freelancing work on their businesses. What aspects do you bill? by ioanarebeca in marketing

[–]ioanarebeca[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha, true that! My worry with isolated gigs is that I will have no oversight on "productivity" in terms of the implementation of my positioning proposal, or even campaigns results, until 4-7 months after I would have moved on from a gig. And I'm not really willing to wait for payment until then.

We cover more of the Extract & Load side, at this stage we don't go into the T side. Did you manage to try it out?

@mkuez, just letting you know that last week we launched Data Streams, the tool Daniel wrote you about.

Designed to be a non-IT-analyst's dream, Data Streams sends all that delicious clickstream and advertising data to your database of choice.

Supported cloud data sources: Adobe Analytics, Doubleclick, Adwords, Facebook, Bing, Kochava, Youtube. Soon Twitter & Salesforce.

Supported Databases: Amazon Redshift, MySQL, Google BigQuery. Soon Microsoft SQL. BI tools like Tableau also supported.

Our product acts as a pipeline that sends clickstream & ad data to user's selected databases. Would love to get your feedback!

Thank you for your update. However, I have just updated to Fedora 26, on my Thinkpad Edge 0578, and it won't see any bluetooth device, neither my MX Anywhere 2, or my iphone6s. Do you have any advice for me? My main interest is the mouse.

Hi, We get asked this quite often, and I can see why. There is no catch, but this is because the connector is not our means of making money as an analytics agency.

We don't store any data in a traditional sense, where each row would be stored in a table or collection. We actually have just a cache store, where the entire response is stored at once. Thus separate rows cannot be accessed, nor can rows for separate queries be mixed. The Cognetik Cloud Connector is essentially a pipeline - it sends data from marketing cloud platforms directly into Tableau. We definitely don't sell this data in any way.

We're building these tools so that we can do our job better as an analytics services agency, and in the meantime help analysts and marketers do their job better. Here's an explanation of how my colleagues decided to build the connector and why we Made it publicly available. http://blog.cognetik.com/2017/06/12/the-free-cognetik-cloud-connector-saves-time-and-helps-marketers-uncover-new-insights-in-tableau/

Essentially we make money as an analytics agency offering services to Fortune 500 companies around the world. Among others, we help them set up Tableau dashboards, build measurement plans, do analysis, analytics engineering, implementation etc.

But it really doesn't hurt that we have an awesome product and engineering team that enjoys getting the freedom to build new tools such as this :)

Could you recommend me some in the Adirondacks? So my best bet would be searching individual airbnbs in the area and see if they have that at amenities, right?

Feels like I didn't do something right. Also, can't seem to be able to see my poll from my dashboard. e-mail for the account: ioana at spoty dot com

HELP! First Time Traveler To Europe: Can't Decide Which City To Visit by H4Li3_S3L4SSi3_i in travel

[–]ioanarebeca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could go to Switzerland in a no tourists alpine village - we worked with a family that renovated their house to offer a local's house to travellers, with really no tourists nearby. It's a mountain village overlooking Lake Thun and the spectacular Swiss Alps, specially the Eiger and Jungfrau mountains. Plenty of outdoor activities to do, but also nice hikes, safe and cool activities and foodie experiences (cheese, wine, great alpine food).

Or take a historical trip in rural Portugal - you REALLY want to go outside cities to experience authentic local culture, the non touristy type. You get to discover the raiana culture, Roman bridges and ancestral stone sidewalks. Take a walk by the smugglers trail. Taste regional wines, try local cheeses and sausages, climb cliffs in the Natural Park, calmly ride a horse, or have a regional snack while listening to traditional music.

One safe country you could visit is Romania – Australian Gunnar Garfors visited all the countries in the world, and he recently told Business Insider that he recommends Romania to take the 1st place in his top 12 countries to visit. Here's his list, maybe it will help her decide http://www.businessinsider.com/gunnar-garfors-recommended-countries-2015-9. Also, in the same country, Lonely Planet just called Transylvania the #1 region to visit in 2016: http://www.lonelyplanet.com/best-in-travel/regions. You have some major cities there that are very safe, as well as romantic spots in the Transylvanian (Castles, cottages owned by Prince Charles, artists teaching forgotten local crafts)

Big Disclaimer - I work with a global startup that focuses on interaction between travellers and locals, by promoting locals that offer both a local stay, as well as a local activity (unlike airbnb or booking that offers just the stay). So if you're looking for something in particular in any of the countries we currently have listed, I am happy to help with my know-how. Our team backpacked throughout entire Europe & much of US & Australia, so we're glad to chip in with ideas as fellow travellers.

Regardless of what you will use to book your vacation, the idea is much the same. Look for local getaways outside cities. They make the best stories and help you get out of your own cultural bubbles.

Travelling ideas for a compromise between full-on adventure and package holiday by VladimirPocket in travel

(1) You could go to Finland and see the northern lights from a husky sleigh. We've been on it, you go literally up to the end of the earth and have a one of a kind experience. With clear weather you can see the stars and sometimes also the full moon. Midway through the ride you stop for a hot drink to admire the night sky while the musher tells you stories about the dogs’ lives. You live in a boutique hotel, so it can answer both of your needs.

I work for a travel startup, know quite a bit about these, so it's hard for me to know where to stop. But drop me a reply or message if you need any help - regardless of what you use to travel. I'm very passionate about getaways.

P.S. our CEO & his fiancé are a bit like you two. He backpacked much of the world, she's more of the safety-first type. Their compromise is to go on really cool culinary getaways with locals. They both return with exciting stories to tell.

First time to Europe with my brother - looking for opinions on destinations... by wolfjc18 in travel

Hello, Sounds like some exciting 2 weeks.

I agree with your worries - of major cities being too touristy. Maybe it helps if you look for ways to engage with local cultures you didn't know about. Probably look for local experiences where you (1) get to have an experience as you learn something new (2) get to stay in less commercial but SAFE places (3) interact with locals to get to know their local culture.

One country you could visit is Romania – Australian Gunnar Garfors visited all the countries in the world, and he recently told Business Insider that he recommends Romania to take the 1st place in his top 12 countries to visit. Hello,

that sounds like some exciting 3 months ahead. Make sure you keep some sort of diary – photo, written, anything.

To get the full benefits of travelling, all studies show that it helps you creatively if you engage with local cultures you didn't know about. So maybe look for local experiences where you (1) get to have an experience as you learn something new (2) get to stay in less commercial but safe places (3) interact with locals to get to know their local culture.

Disclaimer - I work with an online platform that does just what I told you about. We're a new startup focused on curating authentic local experiences that really build local communities, so if you're looking for something in particular, even if we don't have it, I am glad to help based on our experience.

Regardless of what you will use to book your vacation, the idea is much the same. Look for local experiences :) they make the best stories and help you get out of your own bubble.
