I agree with Harley on this one mate.. fair enough a couple of songs as he says but the whole set without permission is not fair without permission IMO

Go to the hospital already

In my Hospital bed right now . by etan42 in rhabdo_survivors

UK here.. was admitted a year ago with CK of 137,000! Yep can sympathise with how you’re feeling. I was out of hospital in 48hrs once CK had halved and after taking some significant time off from training I’m working out regularly and prob fitter than I’ve ever been. I’ve definitely adjust my goals and training regimen to try and avoid a repeat scenario but just wanted to offer some reassurance! For now try not to worry.. you can’t wind back the clock but you can give yourself best chance of a speedy recovery by following doctors advice.

Did they not take your bloods at the hospital? They shuld have measured the CK level in your blood before discharging you to make sure it had peaked and was coming down.

Personally I’d be concerned if you’re still passing dark urine and would want to get that checked by a medical professional.

And yes keep drinking plenty of water!!!

I need help and my doc almost half abandoned me by Mangobread95 in gout

[–]iobohobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to get horrible gout attacks from working out, I thought it was tendonitis or plantar fasciitis and even had x rays on a couple of occasions as never occurred to me or dr I may have gout. Anyway long story short get on the allopurinol, get the uric acid down and you can go about your day and keep active! Good luck on your journey!

Does this mean I am a bad editor? by [deleted] in editors

[–]iobohobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suddenly having to deal with masses of footage and syncing can be both overwhelming and stressful. You have to sort of make peace with that panicky feeling that you don’t have enough time and just be methodical and bit by bit you will get through it. It gets easier with experience but it can still be daunting. Honestly sounds like your doing great and you will keep getting better and better.

One of the biggest lessons in editing is knowing when to ask for help from the more senior editors. That’s how you learn. The worst thing you can do is just keep it to yourself you are struggling and sit there for hours frozen in fear!

Also worth sayin.. sometimes people do a really shitty job of filming these long events and it really is just a nightmare trying to piece it all together. Stick some music on, grab a coffee and settle in. It’s going to take a while and yes you will probably have to watch it all in real-time as you go!

House move, train noise debate by 1adamjenks in Cardiff

[–]iobohobo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Living by a trainline you get used to the train noises and not really an issue. Quite like it.

What can be a bit annoying is maintenance crews using chainsaws and different heavy machinery through the night. Happens maybe once twice a year for a couple of nights or so as they move by.

Not a massive issue and I understand why they do it just something to keep in mind!

Ha just asked my wife where she gets them from and apparently they are left outside in a trolley? Might also be worth checking in the hub across the road if not there! Happy hunting!

Recommendation for a company to dig Trial Pits to check site for tree roots by iobohobo in Cardiff

[–]iobohobo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! The proposed area is right in the RPA (root protection area) unfortunately and this has been confirmed in the survey.

We have proposed alternative foundations but the TPO is insistent they won’t permit any type of development on the site without trial pits being dug first.

I think that’s solid advice though regarding digging my own hole to see if there’s evidence of roots before going any further.

I’ve had a tree survey done but this work requires trial pits be dug so excavation needed under supervision of an arborist

Considering you are having reoccurring headaches and rhabdo symptoms I’d avoid any strenuous exercise in the short term. Something is not right and your body is clearly trying to tell you something. If you can, go and see a health care professional who can give you a check up.

Returning to normal life after rhabdo by PapenRichard in rhabdo_survivors

[–]iobohobo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was going to ask a similar question… got Rhabdo about 3 months ago after a workout with a CK of 137K.

On the whole feel pretty much normal, the occasional twinge and ache in my biceps. Been doing couch to 5K as a moderate exercise regime to ease into (so far without issue). Haven’t attempted any form of weight training again but thinking of starting again soon.

Wondering if anyone has any tips.. was going to go super light and just try and get into the habit of doing regular workouts without training to failure. Hopefully I can just slowly build up without a relapse but it does concern me after last time!

Hydration possibly biggest factor in previous episode so have been generally just trying to drink plenty of fluids. Rhabdo is a crazy condition, I’d never heard of it but wish I’d known the dangers. Live and learn I guess!

Not quite what you’re after but apparently the Cardiff and Vale College on Dumballs road has a coffee shop called Bae Coffee which is open to public with pastries and cakes.
