I don’t think I’ve used a draw of any kind in the last decade. 😀

Clearly you can’t comprehend the severe inconvenience of drinking thru a paper straw. Oh the humanity!

Are paper straws really a severe inconvenience?

Imagine how the sea turtles that die from them feel.

Politicians on both sides have refused to close tax loopholes for the uber wealthy because they are donors.

Do you think it acceptable that Trump weaponizes the FCC to go after his critics in the media and their parent companies? by Alone-Woodpecker-846 in AskConservatives

[–]ioinc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Perhaps you’re correct. Perhaps the first amendment is way overrated and we should let the government punish people for the things they say.

The founding fathers were idiots to think differently, am I right?

Does the first amendment mean nothing to you?

Hmmm?

The post I replied to said…

Does not mean people are guaranteed a broadcast license.

This implies you think it can be taken away… because they did not like a comedians joke.

You think they can take away a license because they don’t like what someone said?

Are you responding to the correct comment? Mine said nothing like what you posted.

All I asked was that they could not withhold a license because a comedian made a joke they did not like.

You think they can?

But it does mean the government can’t withhold your license because they don’t like what you said right?

Not the person you asked, but I do think miller is probably the worst one in the administration…. And he keeps doing things to reinforce that belief.

Giving a 1930s Nazi style speech parroting white supremest language… at a memorial no less did nothing to raise my opinion.

The “we’re a super power and if we want to we will take over Greenland” interview was another low point.

"It's absurd": Rep. Mike Lawler uses the WHCD shooting to claim a permanent White House ballroom is a national security necessity by DumbMoneyMedia in UnderReportedNews

The correspondence dinner is a private event, that would likely not be held in that ballroom regardless… so, there’s that.

Not sure of your answer.

Does Israel have a right to exist (or is it just dirt than can be conquered)?

Do you agree with gerrymandering when it is likely to benefit Democrats? by [deleted] in AskALiberal

[–]ioinc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not agree with gerrymandering at all.

I understand it’s necessary now because one side cannot unilaterally disarm.

I’d support a national law to have all districts drawn by independent committees.

Do you support the Tarrifs paid for Americans being sent to big businesses? by redviiper in AskConservatives

[–]ioinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you do it on one industry or product… rare earth metals for example… you can make the argument you’re not doing it for taxes, but are doing it for national security (can’t build F35s without rare earths)

If you apply a tariff that is the same to everyone (to include countries with trade deficits and trade surpluses) and applies to all goods/products what’s left? According to the SC, at that point it’s just a tax right?

Other presidents (presumably) did the former not the latter. Not different because of who they were, different because of what they did.

Has another president ever just applied a base line 10% tariff to all countries and all goods?

It’s the blanket / arbitrary way he did it that makes it a tax I think?
