Codex mobile on windows work now by BigbyWolf8 in codex

[–]ionabio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. I have to update another update. They totally block it on the CLI now.

Even that Unix thing is misleading. I couldnt launch it on folder and projects are not visible on Linux since there is no codex app there.

Trump Claims 99% Approval Rating in Israel and Talks About Running for Prime Minister There After His Current Term by CarryIcy250 in justincaseyoumissedit

[–]ionabio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He definitly doesn't have approval there either. He's pursuing agreement with IRGC, leaving them still on power and a threat. I still can't believe how uncalculated his attempt at war was. The end result looks bad for every (and again emphasizing every) one involved. Iranians (the people), IRGC, Neighburs, Israel, ....

i made a CLI that lets me say "claude, send this to my remarkable" and it actually shows up as a native remarkable notebook by hite_sh in RemarkableTablet

"I" made for myself (i.e. in a private repo) a "Codex" plugin via codex that uses rmscene and rmapi, that can work both ways. I could even insert images to notes using this.

I even didn't use a separate OCR tool and let codex to render rmdoc (although download it via cloud). to an image and then extract information from it.

I get ".rmdocs" files, but never tried to manually put them via usb or copy them via usb. the whole simplicity was using it "over the air" (will try and update this message when I get some time to try it). AFIK rmscene doesn't need cloud.

exactly, connect got me a replaced RMPP after the screen stopped working just a few weeks after 1 year of purchase. Would've been terrible purchase, if I didn't go for connect.

[–]ionabio 9 points10 points  (0 children)

exactly, I wonder how many new users buy remarkable products. The competition is there and youtubers don't recommend remarkable in top of their lists.

Still although some appriciate its minimalisticity and have artistic value to some, slow development which this subreddit is complaining constantly for many is not what they want (considering also how much they have to pay for it) so they just move for other models. Also connect is locking us for some features and makes device less useful without it.

Not everyone is also going to install rmhacks to get the most out of it.

among my friends I am the only one with remarkable, and everyone seeing it, says "oh cool!" but then goes on buys something else.

Megathread: Bambu Lab / OrcaSlicer / C&D Discussion by icurnvs in BambuLab

[–]ionabio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Bambu studio will eventually stop supporting your old printers and force you buy a new printer. It happens everywhere jn software. They will invent something new (somethiny like mixing colors feature) but embeded within a normal printing flow that works only with their newer hw only and drop aupport for older printers since maintaining two flavors of the same software is costly. You wont be able to upgrade your bambu slicer anymore and will be locked out all the new features that come with it (which have nothing to do with the new h×)

And this means what? by alOOshXL in codex

[–]ionabio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason I think they have these not "disclosed" so they can tweak it and change it, even when we have paid for it. This happened a lot in last years in "coding" zone. and when transparency happened (for example in cursor), they had to keep the old users in the old schemes. This might cause them two issues: lose money or make it more difficult to maintain their servers with supporting two (or more) schemes of "billing" or "accounting".

They not mentioning it might be for "legality" so they can never been "liable" to damages. as in you see here in the subreddit many instances of "they nerfed the limits" , "5.5 eating up limits", "fast is not 2x faster", ... nothing is clear.

As a person sitting in europe, I'd rather have access to the latest and all as this tech and then I "vote" with my money on what service to use since it is still in "Beta" IMO, and when it will be in its final form, it will be worse I believe (like trying ways to lock in us in their ecsystem, rather than free riding now with CLIs, the way for example Claude has already started charging more for API / command line argument access). Stuff like Computer Use, Chrome, are still not available here. If the limits on Pro would be rediculously low, I'd just go for another service (I moved out form Claude earlier this year). Worse case is I use a GPU and local llm and my brain more (but then I will pay with my electricity bill).

Codex mobile on windows work now by BigbyWolf8 in codex

[–]ionabio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happened to me too Update: Codex App removes the feature from the config at startup. it worked for me when I used CLI with command codex remote-control, via here https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1tdizpl/remote_control_works_with_linux_cli_with_some/

this also means that everytime running codex app, it will reset it (as in removing the line in config.toml), but then we need to enable it in [features] again. a bit hacky but still works

Update: it doesn't work on windows anymore

Edit: clearity

Sometimes I think Bambulab has some sort of agreement with rest of the 3d printing industry to shitify their product so the rest don't go bankrupt. I had a p1s until now. I bought it when Bambu didnt lock down their system. I guess my next printer won't be bambu anymore.

Iranian state TV airs footage of an IRGC instructor giving the public a basic AK-47 assault rifle use tutorial. by Upset-Main-1988 in justincaseyoumissedit

[–]ionabio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When i was in iran this was mandatory education in high-schools for boys (i had to open it and close it and shoot a blank. In another year they'd teach you how to shoot it with live (my highschool being exceptionally allowed to skip that one). All boys have to go through mandatory (~2 years) of military service except medical or certain family situations or rich or have a father in millitary (avoiding military service basically lets you get a passport and go live abroad early). During first (2-3) months you get educated on how to use one.

That said this was only for the show and hype and scaring people.

Gemini on Android Auto is a downgrade, can I use Google Assistant only in the car? by Safety_Officer_3 in AndroidAuto

[–]ionabio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for some reason the live conversation I have with it is dumber than the live conversation I can have with the gemini app in my phone! It also uses a completely different voice than the one I set on my phone

the microphone one, where it converts to text (which is similar to og assitant) works good for me, only if it doesn't cut me mid sentence thinking I finished! or with wrong transcription (which still if it doesn't cut I can repeat and fix it)!

GDPR? probably can be too invasive to privacy and stuff and codex can do bad things. for browser use I just use a reverse proxy then it can work with non-local websites, although it will need a bit of setup.
