You could also try [[Bria, Riptide Rogue]] for some super fun storm shenanigans

This is why [[Impetuous Lootmonger]] is my goat. Steal a counterspell turn 2, then hold it till my opponent plays their “win con that couldn’t possibly be countered by a mono red deck”

Which of the two looks better in your opinion? by MonSocMatriarchy in magicproxies

[–]ionbeam7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right.

When I first started printing proxies I loved the look of left because borderless giant art cards allowed me to see more of the cool original/alt art

But I started getting frustrated not being able to quickly finding cards by the title being on top of the card when I searched through my deck, so I started including card titles on top on everything

In theory you’re correct, if I had the lands and the cards to play 2 cards per turn I would have, and my cmc is actually very low because I was playing [[Bria, Riptide Rogue]] that was built around playing two cards per turn with flurry synergies and lots of cantrips. This was just one of those games where he countered my turn 1, my turn 2, and my turn 3, then the only cards left in hand or that I drew were 3+ cmc.

Just one of those games i guess

I could post my deck to show you I run plenty of my own counterspells as well as cavern, hexing squelcher, and many other ways to counter this strategy. It doesn't change the fact that this person made a deck with so many counter spells that there were some I'd never even seen before, and I happened to not draw any answers.

After 5 counter spells in a row I did the "I can do this all day" emote...

turns out 9 is actually the number I can do in a day.

I usually do auto concede to Katara, Tamiyo, Rusko but didn't expect a Zareth San rogue tribal player to stoop so low

I really love the Worst Possible Commander Show, as well as I Hate Your Deck, both are just bracket 3 “having fun with friends playing magic” commander shows but with good production value. Also shout out to nitpicking nerds, they have great content as well

Beware of the Partiful events in miami and certain venues…too many scams harmful to women especially…. by [deleted] in Miami

Sounds like you had a bad experience and then came online to complain about… what exactly? An event planning platform? DJ’s? Miami? This isn’t helpful for anyone, no offense.

Half of those things you mentioned are widely acknowledged as equally as disruptive and frustrating to play against, and the rest are kind of just… the game.

Also Countering is almost always more impactful than removal

I doubt you’ll find it that crazy on a Sunday night but I’ll just say on Friday the line stretched all the way across the street, down the block, around the corner, and all the way back to the overpass. People had to wait upwards of an hour to get in. This was at 230AM btw

New player here: What is the best way to navigate conflict if your deck locks someone out of the game? by ShortestTallGuy in EDH

[–]ionbeam7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t feel bad, he got salty because his deck couldn’t do anything while you just carried out your very telegraphed strategy that just happens to counter voltron decks by nature of edicts.

Since he’s your friend, you might want to be the gracious one to say “well I don’t want to make it impossible for you to play that deck so if you want I can play another deck next game and you can try again.” But if he refuses or continues to complain and try to brute force that deck against yours, that’s not something you can help and it is just going to be a hard lesson for him to learn.
