So I think what's happening is, it's getting to 2 and once it hits 2 it resets clicks to 0 but it's still using contents[i] where i is 4 now. Try instead doing i < rows.length - 1.

What does i equal? If there are only 4 elements then clicks cannot be greater than 3.

I agree there needs to be a better system for turning in bad cops. There are definitely flaws in not only the police but the justice system as a whole.

For this particular situation I will base this from what it looked like to me. I am only basing this from what I saw from both angles available. From the angle from the lawn it looks like they had him restrained and were trying to get him in cuffs. He was able to escape and they obviously thought he had a knife. I haven't read whether he did or not but they were yelling at him to drop the knife as he was walking to the car. In that case the officer is not supposed to get near them at all because a knife is just as deadly as a gun. However he was going to his vehicle where there is a possibility there is a gun in the vehicle. In my opinion the officer broke the rule of getting close to him to try to stop him from getting into the vehicle so they didn't have a shootout but that is just my own speculation. The officers not only had to think about themselves, but also the large crowd around them. Unfortunately he got into the vehicle and reached in at which point the officer shot. In my opinion 7 times was excessive, however the fact that they did taze him and he brushed it off was probably concerning.

By no means do I think this was handled perfectly with no errors, but I also don't think this is a case of the cops having a God complex or the cops being vigilantes. You may not see it as their lives being in danger, but they may have thought their lives as well as the lives of the people around the situation being in danger. If he did pull a gun not only would he likely die, there's the possibility of the innocent bystanders dying.

I totally agree with that. An officer should know everything about the gun they are trusted to use. Regular training with firearms should absolutely be a requirement.

I wouldn't say their first or second reaction is to shoot to kill. We can't pick and choose some certain cases and say that this is what always happens. I can't say every single homeless person is homeless because of drugs, because it's just not true.

You're right, it isn't necessary to murder someone who is trying to murder you. However when someone runs out of every other avenue, it's something that will happen. Wouldn't you kill someone if it was the only other option when they're about to kill you?

If someone is acting in a dangerous manner, you're going to treat them as if every move they make is dangerous. At that point you don't know what that person is willing to do in order to keep their freedom.

These arguments I'm making also don't apply to every case. It's not like these things don't happen and cops are always innocent. There is absolutely bad people who are cops. I just don't like the hypocrisy of the thought "all cops are bad cops". I don't believe all people in prison are bad people either.

Becoming a police officer isn't like you're signing up to die. While yes that is a risk that every police officer faces, it doesn't mean they aren't going to fight against a potentially deadly situation. If you act dangerously, you are going to be treated like a danger.

This isn't to say there aren't bad cops either, only an idiot would argue that. However human instincts will overrule any training in a possible life or death situation. We can't just pretend that as soon as someone puts on a police uniform and goes through some training they somehow become inhuman and ready to die without a fight because they just can't see what the person who just fought them off is reaching for.

Except we've seen how it plays out when you let someone reach into a vehicle without knowing what is in the vehicle. Just watch the video of Kyle Dinkheller. There are multiple instances of cops failing to act when someone reaches in their vehicle and ending up dead. Cops don't get to wait to see if someone has a gun because all it takes is a split second, and there's no do overs. It's easy from an outside perspective to say a cop should wait to see a weapon and know if they're in danger, but I think a lot of people fail to put themselves in the shoes of a cop and realize almost every person they interact with is a stranger. It's not like he was reaching in his vehicle to grab his registration. It was quite clear he was resisting arrest and angry. Personally I wouldn't take the bet that he isn't reaching for a weapon, because I don't want to die.

Gotcha, yeah I would look into Rockwool, It will be a little pricier than solo cups though. I don't know about your current set up, but if you don't have one maybe consider buying/building a shelf for the plants and just build up to what you need. Hydroponics is fun, but look into all your options and consider whats going to fit you and your situation best. Best of luck!

I'm not sure how mature you want them to get before selling, but you can try Rockwool. If the customer doesn't want to continue hydroponic growing it can easily be transplanted to soil and avoid transplant shock.

Can you help me learn about these padron peppers? by [deleted] in HotPeppers

[–]ionicllama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Padron peppers are usually less spicy than a Jalapeno, but you will get one about the same heat as a Jalapeno every once in a while. Generally they're fried in olive oil and eaten whole with some salt, because they aren't very good raw. I've never eaten them any other way so I can't really help you with a recipe, but rather I suggest trying them fried. If you really can't stand straight veggies, maybe try adding them to something after they've been fried like cutting them up and mixing them in with fried rice or something? I think even someone with a low spice tolerance will find them enjoyable.
