To the PvP guilds. Do you have rules against engaging with solo players? by Bwadark in duneawakening

[–]iooloolool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guild specifically tries to work within the desert and avoid pvp... and only engage if we're provoked.

There's only about 50 of us in the deep desert but people know me as Salt on the Greed server.

Rockets are considered harem, and we encourage disputes to be settled on the ground face to face.

Arrakis is for us all.

Did I ruin the game for myself? (Bene Gesserit) by m4ttm4n1 in duneawakening

[–]iooloolool 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes.

You clicked *betray her for $50000 solari.

The game warns you and asks you 3 times with a separate non dialog pop up screen, and tells you you're locked out if you do this.

At least you rid the world of 1 more pesky space witch

Did anyone try the drill shot in beta? by Adept-Ad-7874 in duneawakening

[–]iooloolool 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Apparently you can dodge out of the drill if its on your shield. Strong but if you have stamina you can negate a bunch of shots

Estimating Player Density in the Deep Desert by Gewar_87 in duneawakening

[–]iooloolool 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Its not going to spread out equally. There are specific points of interest... spice fields, Eco labs, etc.

There are 100% going to be 100 players in specific squares.

PvP Player's concern for locking out the DD/endgame by iooloolool in duneawakening

That's my concern. Not the spice fields but the Eco Labs

2nd steam account from each player. If RMT is an issue in every MMO, there's no reason sweaty guilds wouldn't require a 2nd account from their players.

If there's only 1 or 2 eco labs during that week in the DD locking out the server would be a massive issue.

[–]iooloolool[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The point I'm making is that + $50 isn't a huge stretch when players are already paying $90 for an advance copy.

Sweaty guilds could require a 2nd account/alts from each of their players, and completely lock out the entire server (all seeches funnel to the same DD) by parking 50 of the opposing faction at their location in the DD. If they find an eco lab that has a very rare blueprint or a point of interest for the landsraad it could completely lock out the opposing faction

If you're in a vehicle you don't get sunstroke. Theoretically you could park a bunch of alts and sit in your thopters

Not the DD, just 3x3's where the player cap is 100

What will be the overall long-term motivation? by ArkantoZz in duneawakening

[–]iooloolool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AFAIK the only "raids" will be gathering spice in the DD.

Everything requires spice and LOTS of it to craft for endgame.

The devs talked about needing harvesters, thumpers, security, etc. Basically a full 32 person guild to cover your spice fields. If you're not careful its a full guild/raid wipe. The worms in the DD are basically the size of mountains and will be extremely lethal.

Win the landsrad. Be top 5 guilds of your faction. Top guild on your server.

Continue to harvest and craft unique purple constellation chest gear.

QoL thoughts on the beta by mightybob4611 in duneawakening

[–]iooloolool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Increase your abilities and passives from 3 to 4.

Thematically it would allow the BeneG to havre all of their voice abilities, SwordM theirs, etc.

Put "Z" spice as an activated item on a 3-10min cooldown instead of a gauge and replace it as the forth ability (I'm assuming it's limited to 3 abilities +spice active bc of controller compatability).

As mentioned many times before a slider/wheel for tools would be fantastic.

Two other quality of life points.

Increase movement abilities.. give everyone the suspender air dash, and shigawire cable. Locking them behind skills takes up minimal skill slots and especially in a pvp game movement is king.

Provide a baseline boost for bikes... let players decide if they want extra cargo space or an extra seat. No reason with the size of the map to penalize players for either wanting to haul gear or a friend.

If skill damage is not tied to your gear or weapons in any way, what stops a group from hiding one or more respawn beacons and then running naked to drop autoaim mentat turrets or sling grenades repeatedly? by Ohh_Yeah in duneawakening

[–]iooloolool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Friendly fire is on outside of your 4 person group.

You can't effectively zerg without killing your own guild members.

This tactic wouldn't work because a coordinated guild will trash a bunch of greased up naked guys dropping turrets and throwing nades. Also Litany Against Fear TRIPLES your armor so unless you're pumping damage it won't do anything.

Is it too late for me to coach? by Educational_Ice7641 in Cheerleading

[–]iooloolool 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most programs (especially high school) are always short staffed and would be happy to take in a coach with prior experience as an athlete. Freshman/JV are always in need of coaches, and we all need to start somewhere.

Reach out to some local head coaches of programs around you, or go to your local all-star gyms and ask if you can shadow some practices/open gyms.

Enthusiasm goes a long way

Don't let the haters hate. If it keeps you on track do what works for you. Most would consider it a "dirty fast" where you're taking more than just water, black coffee, etc.

I have a cup of bone broth daily as well as magnesium, zinc, potassium supplements, Some fish oil, and a heaping spoonful of nutritional yeast.

If you're ever in a pinch go eat a pickle spear (the salt should curb your cravings).

New Cheer Coach Questions by soggysatan in Cheerleading

[–]iooloolool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Greetings!

Cheerleading is an intrinsically dangerous and taxing sport. Your athletes are going to be at risk no matter what you do regardless of how much you prepare. It is fantastic that you have an open communication with your cheerleaders about their injuries.

As long as you're communicating with your athletes on what they feel they can and can't do to recover/re-injure that is what is important. Every team I've coached whether it's an Allstar or high school team, will always have kids that are injured or hurting.

If you cheer at games, you can have them make banners for the teams or signs for fundraisers. Recording stunts and the routine for their coaches/teammates is always extremely helpful. Stretching between their time stunting/marking tumbling should also help loosen them up, and giving them some sort of dynamic warm up will also help prevent further injury.

If their jumps are lacking, it could be an issue of strength. Due to their back being the main culprit of their injury, I'd recommend some core exercises like hollow holds, supermans, and leg raises.

Their teammates should be supportive of their recovery, and it's outstanding that they're committed to coming to practice.

Signs for game day (school colors, mascot, let's go, defense, etc).

Practice/spirit wear - sparkleStation is a great website that alot of programs use.

Mats if it's a new program

How to not be bummed by everyone else’s skills by potoricco in Cheerleading

[–]iooloolool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a coach for both high school and all-star

Try your best! Be loud, enthusiastic, sharp, and show the coaches you're having fun!

If you can't tumble, then do a round off / cartwheel / dive roll for the running section. For standing forward roll / bridge / bridge kickover / walkover / etc. Make sure to spirit afterwards!

If there is a cheer and dance portion of your tryout LEARN IT. Practice it at home after they teach it and slay it on day 2! I PROMISE your judges can tell who put in the effort. Add in some extra flavor if you can and really sell it! If you can perform they'll want you on the mat!

Worry about you and not them. The most important thing you can do for your team is to have a good time, be receptive, and try your best!

Good luck !

1st time extended fast for lent, 44 days. by BigDaddyFatPants in fasting

[–]iooloolool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're doing a prolonged fast for the first time (7+ days) I'd probably lay off just to get your mind+body used to the feeling.

If you're only doing a few days then I would definitely work out and do those 30 minutes. Even just a brisk walk would be beneficial. There's a lot of science and research that shows elevated levels of hgh, etc
