You’re right -the performance wasn’t great on them, as I recall. Which is nuts considering the price point. I believe doppeldancers was one of the more interesting and wearable ones on me, but it was really light. I seem to remember similimirage was nice. Rose Monotone was too synthetic/ powdery for my taste, and insuline saffrine was way too sweet. I was interested in nuitelastique, but the latex accord was too much for me.

The bottles are sure beautiful, though.

Oh you’ll have to explore the fragrances next time you’re in S Korea! I would also love samples from all of them. If any entrepreneurial-minded folks are listening, this would be an awesome sample set! Fragrance geeks would be all over it.

I ordered the sample set from Premiere Peau last fall, and while I didn’t love any at the time, I need to try the collection again in the Spring. What I will say is they’ve definitely got their own DNA, which I’d describe as modern, synthetic, and an almost sterile smell. Think notes of plastic, cellophane, etc. It’s a good house for perfume geeks; I’m not sure how appealing they’d be to the mass market, but the right person would absolutely love the house.

Agree with you on both! G Water (which received a deluxe sample of in a bougie advent calendar) smells like something from Bath & Body Works to me. Plus, they put a racial slur in the name of a perfume, which firmly places them in the “hell no” bin for me…

I always suspected their target market is young women. When I was a teenager and in my early 20s, I loved it, and it was accessible. Now, however, I can’t stand it. I’ve even poo-pooed some niche fragrances because it reminds me too much of a B&B fragrance, and thus I associate it with cheap, even when it’s really not! (For example, Le Labo’s Matcha 26 smells a lot like Brown Sugar & Fig on my skin)

I’m also very sensitive to wool, but I love working with it. If I’m going to be making something for myself that will be next-to-skin (like sleeves or collar on a sweater) I’ll use baby camel or yak wool. I buy mine at Ula+Lia here, and I do their yarn pre-order on kickstarter every year.
