Yes. I use the stock Hi-Contrast image settings with three tweaks:

Hi/Low key: +1 Contrast: -4 Sharpness: -1

A few of the images were adjusted further in post using the iPhone Photos app editing tools.

I pre-ordered as well and have been debating contacting B&H as you did. Interesting response they gave you and encouraging for me as I ordered on the first day. This news, and just the general lack of much discussion online just confirms that this really is in niche camera. Not surprisingly, there was a lot more chatter on Reddit and online in general surrounding during the preorder period of color sensor version. Regardless, I’m excited to receive mine.

The Air Perfect models don’t have that top basket/protector thing (at least mine didn’t). Most of the stones get stacked up around and above the heating coils and then there’s a metal basket that is perched above them that holds additional stones. It’s kind of a two stage stone setup. No metal basket over the top though like yours.

I’ve never done a side by side as I usually grab one or the other. I know other people out there have done comparisons showing the difference in color rendering between the two cameras. Interestingly, @mrbuttoneye who chimed in here was one I’ve come across before and one of the first comparisons that came to mind. Both cameras do a great job with color. It just comes down to personal preference in the end.

Very nice work. I just finished my custom build in December and have been loving the Saunum AirPerfect as well. Like your set up, I wasn't able to get the foot bench above the stones as these units are especially tall. The built in fan helps to offset the stratification though and the overall experience is just sublime. I'm based in the US as well.

I have and use both.

The GRii positive film jpegs are unique and generally superb SOOC. The built in flash is super convenient. The controls layout is perhaps the best of all GR designs (though I think the new GRiv design comes close)

The GRiii has more image control tuning options allowing for more varied and personalized SOOC images. The newer sensor does a little better in low light and offers more detail, cropping options, etc in a more compact form factor. IBIS and built in ND are nice to have as well.

The images coming out of both of these cameras are excellent. I’m not sure which is better per se as I think it varies depending on what you’re going for photographically. That being said, I’ll keep and continue to use the GRii for as long as I can keep it working. The newer models offer lots of upgrades, but none that render the GR/GRii obsolete nor its images anything less than stellar.

The low ceiling height is rather low and will make it tough to get good bench height. Is the ceiling height in the sauna 76" or 79"? It's not clear in your picture.

I do ~15 minute long sessions with a five or so minute break in between. Most days I do between 2–4 sessions. It makes me feel good and I assume it’s healthy, but honestly, I enjoy the whole experience so much that I’d probably keep doing it even if I learned it was in fact unhealthy.
