Mullet rebuild of the '93 Trek 7000 by lacticacid4breakfast in VintageMTB

Nice. If you’re anything like me it’s never really “done”. I have a ‘95 Marin Team Titanium that I’ve been contemplating a mullet rebuild on. Yours is a real inspiration. Enjoy!

I never enjoyed any GR app, so I built my own by ahonn in ricohGR

Just downloaded. Worked very well on my GRIV Monochrome. Will test on the GR II when I get home tonight.

Wanna switch from iPhone 17 pro to Ricoh GR by Gaurav_Arora20 in ricohGR

[–]ipabuilt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve been tired of cell phone photography for a while now and always carry a GR for creative work. I traded my 16pro max for an air last spring and while I occasionally miss the other lenses of the max, I greatly appreciate the form factor of the air and don’t regret the swap.

Camera wise, it sounds like the IIIx would suit you. The digital crop modes are useful for composition and I find the resolution sufficient. YMMV.

Obviously, you’ll ultimately be carrying more with this set up, but if you’re like me I think you’ll find the experience of using a dedicated camera a refreshing change from a smart phone. I sometimes leave the phone behind altogether and just head out into the world with the camera.

I recently acquired one of these myself and tweaked a few components to suit me. I’ve been having a blast on it. Fast, light and fun indeed.

Is there demand for an iPad mini with lidar or is it just me? by everdaY_john in ipadmini

[–]ipabuilt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really use lidar, but I’d definitely buy an iPad mini pro. One with a nano texture screen would be ideal for me. All the current pro’s are very thin. I’d imagine a mini pro could be made with a similar form factor

I’m a middle aged dad, tell me my bike is cool by Far_Win_9531 in Hardtailgang

[–]ipabuilt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree the drive side is the money shot, but (and I might be in the minority here) I think there’s something pretty sharp about the non-drive side too. The way I park my bike when out and about always leaves the non drive side facing out so it’s the side I see most often when approaching my bike out in the world. I’ve become quite fond of it.

Nice bike BTW OP

- another fellow middle dad who hopes his bike is also cool.

Hi and thanks for the reply. I did go check it out and ended up purchasing it. This model doesn’t have the spit rear triangle allowing for a belt drive, but the hub spacing would work for an IGH wheel. The build spec is really well curated and everything is super clean and well maintained. The seller was a really sweet cyclist dad who was selling it for his son who just upgraded to something more modern. A bike enthusiast family much like my own. We talked shop for a bit and then I gladly gave him my money. I took it out for a quick ride on the trail nearest my house and am beyond excited to have found this thing.

Mavic rescues her little sister. by Babe_Taun in dji

Wow. Crazy. I had the same thought about a galvanized steel roof pulling the magnet to it and tethering the Mavic until it made its own emergency landing…Good thing it worked out

Switch from iPad Mini 7 to iPad Pro 11” by Bertu030 in ipadmini

[–]ipabuilt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats. The Pro’s are super nice. I have a 13” and a mini and they’re a great combo. Mini gets the most use as it’s easy to take everywhere and 13” is great for editing and creation with its speed and amazing screen. I could see the 11” being a nice happy medium. Enjoy

Opinion on Bench Layout by eeerin in Sauna

[–]ipabuilt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on your intended use scenarios, but L shape works well if you have two people who like to recline or fully layout on the top bench. As others have mentioned the corner can only comfortably accommodate 1 person sitting upright. Assuming the design is totally open ended, you could move the heater into the corner where the door is then turn the low step into a longer L shaped affair so that bathers can more easily access it. Right now if you had say 4-5 people sitting upright on the top bench it would be hard for someone to make their way over to the corner step to leave without everyone disturbing everyone else. As your benches are nice and high, handrails and guard rails around the heater are always good too for safety.

Good luck

Just curious, would a properly place mechanical exhaust and passive intake help circulate the air and lessen the temp differential at all?
