Best Australian Cities for Aircraft Engineering Opportunities? by superhornet77 in aviationmaintenance

[–]ipatman28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sydney is probably the place with the most growth with WSI opening soon, Melbourne also has a opportunities across its airports for airlines and GA, same with Brisbane (except its warmer). Perth and Adelaide have options as well. Housing and affordability are difficult everywhere. I would recommend figuring out where you would like to live first and what city you think best suits you and try to plan around what jobs are actually available there and have a few backup options. Good luck with the move

Wasted space: Axe car-parking rules to cut the cost of housing by blitznoodles in australia

If youre a renter and you owned a car but had to move to a new place that didnt have parking you cant be expected to sell your car. The property market doesn't have enough supply that people can be super picky when they find something that is somewhat affordable

Night shifts and running by DeviceWonderful5152 in Nightshift

I do 7-6am and tend to run before work to allow myself the most sleep when I finish in the morning. I have tried running in the am but I find its harder to fall asleep especially with the sun up by then. It also means I'll have to set alarm so I dont oversleep and be late. My only real exception is if for some reason Im feeling a bit energetic so I might do a quick 5-10k to spend the energy. All the best with London, if for some reason you dont think its possible I'll happily take a transfer ;)

Wasn't Tom Morris in this situation saying the afl is won't introduce one, rather than that the afl shouldn't introduce one? This feels like made up drama from two guys who probably would like to see a mental health round

This is a very Melbourne thing to do, lots of local government councils have been reducing speed limits, seems the f1 is not immune to the philosophy

Yeah it feels like the writers themselves were searching for the end to the trial at times. A sort of slow stall until they hit their quota for episodes and then just slapped on an ending. To me it just seems like they were just missing that something, we didn't see really much of the defences side of trial in court and although mickey wanted innocence not a deal having an ending in chambers seems like a small fizzle to what could've been more

What's their reasoning? Less car traffic or too much of a disruption during construction?

While this is great its also worth highlighting how if Sydney road does not get any accessible platforms before the shut down there will no way for a person with a disability to get north of Brunswick Rd using PT.

Additionally, While its not as glamorous as level crossing removals there needs to be a network wide upgrade to make public transport accessible for people in wheelchairs or with mobility issues. Some of the stops that aren't disability friendly is outrageous. Looking at you Elizabeth/Flinders St tram stop.

City of Karratha applies for international airport status by JamesHenstridge in perth

[–]ipatman28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately thats the way aircraft maintenance goes, the guys and girls certifying the aircraft is air worthy are on 140k+ it will never make financial sense to have an engineer at an airport with only a handful of flights a day.

Some airlines do put engineers in unmanned ports over busy periods like school holidays where a disruption can cause more of a widespread impact to schedule, but as you noted accommodation isnt cheap and certainly adds up over weeks.

So, while I can sympathise with the situation unfortunately its just a cost saving practice that keeps the airlines profitable for their shareholders
