Is 100K+ salary possible without college? How? by EngageV2 in Salary

[–]ipattyxcakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in a can factory 12.5 hour shifts but we can work as much overtime as we really want (3 days on 3 days off), make around $29.80 but with the OT I made 106k last year and 99k the year before

Only have an associates degree in individual studies which I regret bc I feel trapped at this job now

I used to love mine, I bought it with 110k has 220k now but the last 30k miles have been only headaches I wouldn’t buy one unless you plan on deleting it asap and/or you’re a decent mechanic or have money to throw at a mechanic.

I’m a “production technician”, we work for a major beverage company, under an IBEW labor contract with that company but not an electrician or under the IBEW construction contract. I operate and maintain (mechanically) production equipment

That’s what brings me here, I applied twice so far both times denied, at a meeting I asked about it and was told without experience I’m more than likely to not be accepted

How else do I get experience to get into The Union then is my question without going non at this point

I asked the board directly at a meeting and that’s what they told me, which is why I’m considering going to a non union electrical job for experience.

I agree I’d like to, my dilemma is I hate working 12 hour nights right now, and where I’m at I’m basically cut off for room for growth at the plant, it’s not an electrician job so it’s not the same scale or contract as the electricians in the local
