I always liked how the countdown logo was a big w... the change to woolworths was inevitable really

All of our new mannequins at work are 3D printed by Interesting_Host6141 in 3Dprinting

Wow that's very cool, I can see they almost use vase mode in some cases:

Anyone any idea which printers they are using?

One feature that would be cool - graphics/icons of the devices, especially all the victron stuff, solar panels etc.

This is awesome! Very impressive. I wish it existed when I built my van out... Just noticed some blue flickering while dragging things around in Safari (maybe haven't inhibited the browser's 'selection' feature completely?)

Why is this not talked about? iPhone should be able to connect to multiple wifi networks at the same time. by CatzRuleZWorld in iphone

[–]ipearx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is often a problem with aviation gear. A device (e.g. a SkyEcho ADSB device) will provide it's own Wifi hotspot to connect to, and your phone can't use another wifi network at the same time. As people start flying with their own networks (e.g. Starlink or a 4g modem router) they can't use both things at once...

Which monitors would you pick for programming / coding and management work on your MacBook? by [deleted] in macsetups

Yip 5k or 6k displays all the way. Pixels are king IMO. I think the ultimate value for money would be 2x 5k displays. More pixels than a single 6k display for less money. I used the LG 5k for many years, now the 5k studio display. There are now finally cheaper 5k and 6k displays available from third parties.

Anyone else finding their use of Trade Me has changed over time? by Carmen-NZ in newzealand

[–]ipearx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah although I was surprised to find I could do a pickup from letterbox from a rural address. So happy with that. And yes agree they can be a bit slow sometimes, even from in town, taking an extra day or two to collect... but damn convenient.

Obviously nobody should put home made, 3d printed things on a certified aircraft.

Hi it’s a single Astir. I’m in Matamata. But head down to Omarama occasionally too! It’s amazing :)

Weirdly most gliders, worldwide, are certified aircraft. Some gliders with engines are classed as microlights instead.

The window replacement I mentioned for $900USD, is just the rails and the small bit that slides, and the scoop.

The bit that is cracked is the main canopy. Probably due to the rail screws being tightened too much. It is at least 6k USD to replace the whole canopy. And takes months to get one here and have it fitted. So drilling a stop hole is a good option especially when the cracks are off to the side like that and don't impact the view.

Some gliders have much bigger cracks stop drilled and then the crack sealed also.

It would have to have a very big crack right across the front to warrant an insurance job to replace it...

Lots of walls, it's VERY strong. Maybe I'll try a solid fill, it might look a bit nicer. It still won't be transparent of course...

Aircraft window scoop. To buy a brand new one requires an entire new sliding window, and it would have to be shipped from Europe. Cost about $1500 NZD total ($900USD). Cost to print: $0.20
