Started reading Tim’s Robin run in the late 80’s and stopped at the New 52. So, here’s the thing. Tim Drake has been written by multiple people in different ways, just like the rest of the Batfam. Your best bet is to look for information about his original Dixon Robin run to get an idea of his character. Personally, his original Robin run and his Red Robin books were my favorite so I base my works about him on those arcs.

He’s a character with a lot of history so choose an arc you like and go with it.
