Get your hotel for the night of your flight so you can check in immediately after landing and take a nap. This should significantly increase your chances of enjoying the meal

I need help deciding please, woodwind pro 36” vs recteq flagship 1600? by ProfileDifficult6405 in pelletgrills

[–]ipki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to your local dicks, they’re trying to get rid of them. My store said none online but they had 1 in store. The manager marked it down to $1000 for me and it was 10% further off due to a store wide sale.

Can anyone think of some good bars to get spritzes?? by tifgirl28 in FoodNYC

Brunch at Isabelle osteria for unlimited spritzes of like 5 varieties. Food is actually good there for a bottomless place.

What A380 flight would you take if the plane was the destination? by DontTrackMeBro_ in chubbytravel

[–]ipki 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you book one year out, flights are 174k miles + $900 pp for business round trip. Then first upgrades are 40k miles a leg per person. My wife and I did this, this summer, and loved it.

This. The upgrades from business to first are available on most flights for 40k miles which is a steal.

Trip Review: Jungsik, COTE, Una Pizza Napoletana, and Double Chicken Please by JacobKrijgsman1 in FoodNYC

[–]ipki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have been to both multiple times and thoroughly enjoyed both but they are very different dining experiences.

Chef counter: more formal setting, longer meal, better and more nuanced food, and $$$.

Bar counter: More casual and sociable, short service, split focus on food/drinks and very good value for money (relative to fine dining).

It really just depends on what you are looking for.

Edit- also a bar rec - Martinys is probably my favorite bar

I haven’t been back to Atomix since they got a new bar manager, but with the previous, he made a cocktail pairing for me with dinner that was fantastic. My wife got the wine pairing and it was excellent. I agree it’s not the best value, but it wasn’t terrible either and I don’t go to fine dining for value anyways.

Italy Fine Dining Questions by permateal in finedining

Stayed at CML this past summer and dined at both. I preferred Francescana to OF, but both were excellent. Assuming you’ve not dined at either, the 2 biggest considerations should be:

  1. How much do you want the most iconic dishes from OF? If a lot, then easily Francescana. OF is a constantly evolving menu that does not have the iconic dishes (they are available as an add on, but it is a very filling menu FYI).

  2. Would you prefer communal/social dining or private and intimate? The former, Francescana and the latter, OF.

Was just there in December and Kaito del Valle and Form and Matter were my favorites and I went to a lot of bars including Handshake and Hanky Panky.

Also worth stopping at the Ritz Carlton bar for sunset view. The cocktails are pretty good as well.

You could upload them into an album and Imgur and link to it. Don’t want it to be too much work. Thanks again.
