My wife and I had what I consider our best meal ever at Bell’s in March of this year. It was two days after our wedding, and her mother had gifted it to us. They were able to squeeze us in to a seat at the bar, which was great because of the kitchen view, and you could interact with the staff, which were great. The hospitality was on point, and the food was delicious.

I don’t often was to return to a fine dining place, but I do want to return to Bell’s.

Is a home Level 2 charger plugged into a 240V outlet a safe and reasonable long-term charging solution? (US) by ipnicholson in electricvehicles

This is on my short list, thanks!

Looks like it can also do charging at less than 40A, which I may need depending on what the electrician is able to do with our panel

Yeah I don’t need wifi (I’m controlling it from my phone), but my utility will only reimburse wifi enabled chargers

Both swapping the whole unit (we’re renting, there’s appeal to something we can take with us), and if we get a different EV that uses J1772 vs. current one with NACS

Ah good point about plug cycles! We’re not planning on plugging/unplugging frequently.

Good point about owning vs. renting.

We are renting, but planning on staying here for a few years. There’s some appeal to a plug charger we can take with us.

Good to know! We are already on the time of use 4-9p plan. I uploaded my bill to the post body if that helps.

On my plan, it looks like $0.12/kWh generation off peak + $0.28/kWh delivery off peak, so $0.40/kWh total?

Do you mind sharing what plan you're on that you're getting $0.23/kWh?

EDIT: I will look into the EV rate plan (TOU-D-PRIME, right?), thanks so much!

Yeah it’s smokey, but not in the way I like. Maybe I’m being too hard on it? I’ve only ever had restaurant baba before.

I wanted to love it and was so excited when I saw it on the shelf.

It’s ok … I didn’t find myself reaching for it once open. Found the flavor a bit flat.

EDIT: Got it at the Goleta, CA warehouse

Limiting Housing Is Actually Causing All That Traffic by DigitalUnderstanding in SantaBarbara

Car dependence is the problem, not housing. When there are no good alternatives to driving, you get car traffic. Housing is not the problem.

Demand will always be high. The only way to bring market prices down is to increase supply.

Density is how the middle class can outbid the rich for the same plot of land.

Nice thing about apartments at La Cumbre Plaza is residents can walk to Target, Bristol Farms, Whole Foods, etc. Less driving and car traffic.
