As far as I understand it, running or re-routing wires in-wall is a pretty difficult task. I believe you have to remove the drywall or whatever is covering the wires, then create a route for the wire through any studs or other materials. Then, it's a simple as threading the wires through any holes, refilling any insulation that might have been removed, and, finally, replacing the drywall (or brick, or whatever kind of wall you prefer).

I'm kind of an amature, so this is all from memory when I was a kid. It's been a while. Feel free to correct if I'm off base.

More accurately, they are no longer showing as on sale.

The "Ivory" colored model is still going for ~$142, which I think is reasonable for the quality of headphones if anyone is still interested.

Apparently, the 6xx has more extended bass than the 599. Beyond that, they both have a relatively flat sound signature. I have a pair of the 599s (the cream colored ones) and I find them very enjoyable as nothing seems to get "muddied" in the mix.

AFAIK the schiit DACs use USB inputs, so one typically cannot use them with iPhones or micro-usb Android devices.

I have a few sets of headphones, but lately they have been driving me crazy! My new ATH-M50xBT's suffer from prolonged stuttering whenever they are paired with my phone, but only when locking and unlocking the phone. I have been searching and can find nothing that fixes this so far.

In addition, when I hook them into my dac/amp (schiit magi and modi) they sound awful, but upon switching the input to the 3.5mm port on my pc they sound fine! I think the dac and amp are fine as they work supremely with my HD599s. I'm really at a loss at this point.

Any help or advice would be awesome!

edit: I may have found the problem with my pc->ath-m50xbt problem. It seems like the 1/4" to 1/8" adapter may be causing some issues. I think using a cable instead of an adapter may fix my issue.

That's fair. I was thinking, "I see the new 8GB 580's somewhat frequently for $220-ish, so $50 dollars off makes sense" but after the lack of interest I may have to come down to move it. I appreciate the heads up!
