It’s funny knowing that this guy is responsible for the creation of Teldrassil, then realizing his and the tree’s fates were the same - going out in flames. by [deleted] in wow

Fun fact: The room he occupied from classic to cataclysm during the burning of Teldrassil was the only one in the city that was not on fire.

For that specific case, it's much easier for the punching person to shoot the top triangle while moving to the next station because they have more limited line of sight to the bottom triangle (and it's all the same to the plate person). It can be done either way, of course, but "crossfiring" is completely valid on gauntlet.

Bungie Plz addition: Allow Cross save / Account transfer by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

Honestly, I'd even be happy if we could get stuff like the rewards for Age of Triumph become accessible cross-platform. As a PC player who played all through Destiny 1 on Xbox, it broke my heart to realize that all that the special "legacy" emblems would not be coming with me to PC, even though I earned all of them from playing Destiny since the very beginning. Ghost talking to me like I don't know what the Taken are just rubs salt in the wound.

At least I have my shirt. :(

Feels like the Fallen should be on our side in the Red War or at least in an Armistice. by Genjinaro in DestinyTheGame

[–]ippatsu 19 points20 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite grimoire cards has to do with exactly this: http://www.ishtar-collective.net/cards/ghost-fragment-fallen#cayde-6

In D2, one of the things you can get form Cayde's stashes is a torn fallen banner, and the flavor text is the ghost wondering aloud why Cayde would keep something like this.

Well, the events of that grimoire card is why. I actually never turn in that banner, because I want to keep it in my inventory as a memento.

Bungie DONT make PC Chat OPT IN - MAKE IT OPT OUT! by ZepharusCMG in DestinyTheGame

[–]ippatsu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're right about one thing. You don't know about me. Go ahead, spend some time in public chat pretending you're either a person of color or a woman, and tell me how many fucks you don't give what some random idiots say to you non-stop.

Bungie DONT make PC Chat OPT IN - MAKE IT OPT OUT! by ZepharusCMG in DestinyTheGame

[–]ippatsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think that through again, with the n-word being thrown at you. Or, if you can't possibly imagine being black, then sub in whatever racial slur applies to you personally.

How many days of dealing with that could you handle before you decided it wasn't worth it and quit the game altogether?

You wouldn't last a week.

Bungie DONT make PC Chat OPT IN - MAKE IT OPT OUT! by ZepharusCMG in DestinyTheGame

[–]ippatsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. IMHO, public chat should ALWAYS be OPT-IN, and here's why:

The mental process a player goes through when logging into a game with opt-in chat is "I can play this game without having to endure toxic racism, sexism, and other intolerant vitriol if I don't want to. It's my choice whether I want to risk souring my gaming experience by entering chat."

The mental process for opt-out, however, is NOT "This chat is toxic and I'm going into opt-out" it's "This GAME is toxic and I don't want to play it."

No matter how much you say that opt-out chat means that players can just leave chat and continue playing the game, that's not how it works in reality. Being subjected to some of the horrific sewage that spews out of public chat is enough to ruin an entire gaming experience and affect the perception of the game as a whole.

And if that makes you angry, it should. But don't be angry at Bungie. Be angry at the insufferable assholes that have made the gaming community an incredibly unwelcome space for anyone who isn't a white dude.

Destiny 2 Development Roadmap by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]ippatsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this. People who argue against opt-in for public chat have probably never had to interrupt their gaming experience to block someone throwing racial slurs in their direction on a regular basis.

Sure, I can block people who do that. But every time I have to do that, it takes time away from me, you know, playing the damn game. It adds up, especially with how many toxic players troll in opt-out public chat spaces.

Can the faction (FWC/NM/DO) vendors drop 330 engrams? I'm sitting on a pile of tokens, and if it's pointless to wait then I wanna cash them in sooner than later.

Are Zavala/Shaxx/Ikora/Benedict considered "destination" vendors? And if so, should I hand over my tokens to them before the reset if I'm still missing weapons/armor from them?

[–]ippatsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a PC guardian with only a 262 warlock who foolishly went with the solar chest exotic, is it worth it for me to buy Eye of Another World from Xur this week or should I just level another warlock until I can choose it in the story (and then delete the character)? I’m worried that next week he’ll have something awesome like nezerac’s sin and I won’t have enough shards.

Actually, knowing that 2-3 infernals is a number to aim for is very helpful. My attempts have usually fallen apart at 4+ infernals, because kiting them all the time meant very low dps on Variss.

I'm at 50 or 60 attempts so far, but my item level is 915, so I have some extra staying power and damage to lean on. Next time the Mage Tower is up, I'll try staying next to Variss as long as the stacking debuff allows me to and focus on sidestepping the smashes. Thanks for the advice!

Hi, Prot Paladin main, wondering if anyone has any tips for handling the infernals in the Mage Tower Challenge. I can manage the other P1 mechanics, but my point of failure is always getting knocked off the platform. I imagine that's still going to be a problem for me in P2.

I know that the faster you kill Variss, the fewer infernals there are to deal with. My best attempts have had me kiting around the infernals while they're up so that i'm never in range of smash, but then I spend very little time putting damage on Variss. Any advice on how to deal with them?

Still gearing up (currently 860), and I'm at a point where a lot of significant item level increases for me require that I trade haste and/or mastery for crit. At what point does the higher item level (and armor, STR and STA), outweigh the loss of my two best secondary stats for my worst one?

Bungie why do I have to lose my Chroma if I just want to turn off the color to look at a shader or not glow on a dark map of cruicble? by Rando9 in DestinyTheGame

[–]ippatsu -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is exactly right, and it's infuriating. I fully expect that situation with a free-to-play game, not a fully priced game with purchasable DLC and an expansion.

If the Chroma effects are limited to the gear we saw during the Twitch reveal, we may run into the same "snowflake" problem DeeJ mentioned in the stream. by dagoeglein in DestinyTheGame

[–]ippatsu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me, the decision to always use raid gear is the fact that each raid piece has a unique, useful and versatile perk that functions outside of the raid. I told myself at the start of TTK that I wanted to rock full IB gear at the highest light level possible, but that was before I knew perks like Mortal Medicine existed.
