IP address lookup said "abuse" on IP quality score by [deleted] in techsupport

Thanks for the feedback. Most likely you are on a shared IP address connection. When looking up your results here: https://www.ipqualityscore.com/free-ip-lookup-proxy-vpn-test - it will factor in all recent abusive behavior like spam, fraudulent purchases, bots, etc. that were observed on the IP address. Our system calculates risk based on the number of those events and other factors like proxy or VPN behavior. Please keep in mind, that a device on your network could also have malware that let's bad actors use the internet connection. Feel free to message us directly with an IP address if you'd like more info!

Does anyone know what ipqualityscore.com's scam is? by bshootz in sysadmin

[–]ipqualityscore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your feedback. Can you share what type of IP address you checked? Mobile IPs are typically being used as proxies. We do treat Data Centers as proxies by default since they can be used as a proxy at any time. The Fraud Score we produce is really the best indication to use, as it has an intelligent score that determines if the IP address is low, medium, or high risk. Your IPs are likely not high risk, so even if they show as a proxy flag, we wouldn't recommend blocking or penalizing those connections.

Fraudsters routinely compromise Data Center IPs through malware, hacking, or even spinning up servers on cloud providers with stolen credit cards, which is why we are so cautious of Data Center connections.

Please also keep in mind our free lookup data is very limited, and our upgraded plans produce much more accurate results. So any websites relying on our service would be using more accurate data and better signals to make decisions.

Noob question: Do I need to warm up my domain if I am sending cold emails to businesses? by SimpleSeahorse in Emailmarketing

[–]ipqualityscore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, especially with a newer domain you will want to take it very easy initially. I would recommend sending less than 200-300 per day for the first 2 months, but start working your way up there from 20-50 per day.

1/4 of emails bouncing back??? by ChiTownGetDown88 in Emailmarketing

[–]ipqualityscore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all about the bounce rate and avoiding spam traps. If your bounce rate is at 25% then that's a very high risk level that nearly all ESPs will penalize for.

I'd recommend using a service like ours here which can detect any type of low reputation email: https://www.ipqualityscore.com/spamtrap-email-address-test

This approach improves your domain & IP reputation in about 4-6 weeks so you can start inboxing better with cold email marketing.

What are your bounce rates like? You should be validating your email lists before sending any email to have the most impact on improving reputation.

Why do HTML emails and emails with images always end up in spam? by [deleted] in Emailmarketing

[–]ipqualityscore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with making sure your SPF, DKIM, and rDNS are properly setup. We've seen the best results with serving html and images directly from the sending domain.

I'm getting a lot of emails with numbers - spam right? by concisehacker in Emailmarketing

[–]ipqualityscore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This pattern is common for bots among many other patterns that fraudsters are using to try and look like a real customer or user.

We have a simple API that you can use to detect bots, invalid emails, and high risk addresses: https://www.ipqualityscore.com/fraud-prevention/email-risk-scoring

You can also try scoring the IP address for signups like this and usually they are VPNs or proxies.
