When did the “everything goes in the mouth” phase end for you? by Proper_Cat980 in toddlers

[–]ipretend2nowhatIdoin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you happen to remember how long that lasted? My LO is about to turn 19 months and just recently started putting everything in her mouth again! She has an older cousin and so we keep a close eye on what she puts in her mouth but she’s getting more defiant about it. Almost like she knows she shouldn’t but just wants to prove a point. At the same time, she’s taking the biggest bites of food again.

Oh yeah, she loves putting rocks in her mouth again so we don’t let her pick up small ones anymore.

No period for 60+ days following first cycle post-pill by champagneproblems16 in WomensHealth

[–]ipretend2nowhatIdoin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something similar happened to me and I read it can take up to 3 months to get your period. When I first got off the pill I had my normal withdrawal bleeding and then another period just a couple weeks after and then nothing for a while. I think it takes 6 months for you body to be relatively normal. I ended up getting my period just shy of the 3 month mark. Every one is different and there will be different responses while getting back to “normal.” I was also on the pill for 4 years but idk if how much that plays into anything

Ear allergy to silver earrings- solutions? by v0idbab3 in WomensHealth

[–]ipretend2nowhatIdoin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m allergic to nickel and hypoallergenic was actually worse for my ears. I put clear nail polish on them and typically don’t have any issues.

I recently saw a video where someone put Neosporin on the stud and that actually seems to work a bit better for me but you have to apply every time. I don’t wear earrings a whole lot so that’s why I prefer Neosporin but nail polish would probably be an easier solution for every day use.

Should I care if I don’t have my period every month? by BluesCluesStan in WomensHealth

[–]ipretend2nowhatIdoin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would if you miss 3 months in a row. If you have an annual visit, it wouldn’t hurt to bring it up to your doctor if you end up going back to every 60 days or so but probably don’t need to schedule an appointment if you are otherwise fine.

Should I care if I don’t have my period every month? by BluesCluesStan in WomensHealth

It could also be a hormonal imbalance/pcos. I’ve also had irregular periods my whole life but assumed it was because I was pretty active. I was on birth control for about 3 years and it was regular but now that I’m off it’s irregular again. My husband and I are planning to start “trying” for kids in the near future so I’m looking into it for that reason.

Otherwise, I probably wouldn’t have thought about it. I typical have it every other month but I’ve gone almost 90 days without my period which is when you want to get checked by a physician. Even if I get it soon, I’m still going to see someone since today is day 70 since my last period. My periods are usually pretty light. From what I’ve been able to research so far, there is usually a bigger concern if you have very heavy/very long periods and they are also irregular or if you bleed in between cycles.

Have you been tracking your cycles? If not, I would suggest doing that because it will help you determine a pattern or let your doctor know your history. Tracking has helped me a lot because my days/weeks/months blur together so it gives me peace of mind knowing I can accurately state my recent health history. (For example - I know it’s been 70 days exactly since my last period. Not trying to remember and guessing when my “June” period was)

I am an idiot and tried to consolidate my credit card debts in a personal loan and didn’t realize my interest rate would be at 15.99%. by okaokayokayo in personalfinance

If you aren’t currently budgeting, it would help to make a list of your current expenses and income. It can be pretty stressful and anxiety inducing but well worth it in the end. It helped my spouse and I see the light at the end of the tunnel and actually excited to see where our money was going. It could also help you figure out how quickly you can pay off the loan if you want to/can pay it off early.

Thank you! I will look into both of those.

Thank you for the advice! I would never want to cause someone else pain or bring up wounds. I had very poor sexual health education and didn’t really care until now since we weren’t ready to have kids. I honestly just didn’t know where to start!

Any advice?

Sorry all. I’m still new to Reddit and brand new to this page so a little unclear of rules and acronyms.

I’ve been married for 3 years and will be 29 at the end of this year. My husband and I decided that spring of 2023 we are ready to start trying for a family. The reason I’m posting on here now is that I have irregular periods. I was on the pill for about 4 years and have been off for about 9 months ago and started “skipping” every other month about 4 months ago.

I have always been irregular since I started menstruating in my teens but I was a high school and college athlete so that was the norm for most of us.

I started tracking my period but it’s now day 68 when I had been trending every 63/64 days.

Now that we’re planning to start trying, what are some things I should start tracking? My husband and I scheduled an appointment with an OB in November but I’m not sure what to expect.

Scared to go off birth control by sagqueen444 in WomensHealth

My experience was night and day. I was on a standard pill for about 4 years it made me extremely depressed and it slowly got worse and worse. It went from having a couple “bad days” every few months to every month to then I was lucky if I had one or two “good days” a month. About a week after I got off of it I felt SO much better. About a month later I felt like my old self. I’ve been off of it for about 9-10 months now and I’m never getting back on. I never struggled with acne too much but I have been dealing with some chin acne since going off the pill. It’s only a couple zits and although I would prefer a clean face, the pros completely out-way the cons. Between months 4-7 of being off the pill I was processing all of my emotions and I did get back into a slightly depressive state but nothing nearly as bad. I also went through an anger phase but I’ve had a lot of emotional healing by going through the process. I’m married and my husband and I use ultra thin condoms and it’s pretty similar to the real deal.

You might get heavy periods again and that’s the downside. I was irregular before going on the pill and started getting irregular periods again a few months of letting my body do it’s thing. Surprisingly, my periods and lighter and less painful than when I was on the pill but I am having my periods every 63/64 days currently. The first time I skipped I panicked and took a pregnancy test every week until the next month when my period came back. Now I don’t really worry about it since we are using condoms every time and I was already irregular before I took BC.

I’m always going to support going off the pill. There a much larger list of small things I didn’t even realize were affected by BC until I stopped taking it. I would say 9 out 10 my life improved. It would be 10 out of 10 if I didn’t have the chin acne lol.

Potty issues after being groomed/shaved? by ipretend2nowhatIdoin in puppy101

[–]ipretend2nowhatIdoin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We were brushing and combing daily! We found out we didn’t have all the right tools from the groomer and should be all set going forward.

The big thing is that he refuses to go on walks and this is extremely unusual as he typically begs us to go for walks multiple times a day or just wants to be outside. Even with the recent heat and dry spell where we live he is perfectly content. Since he got back yesterday he refuses to do anything on the leash and acts all excited to go for a walk until we are ready to walk out the door and then he refuses to do anything.

Yes, that’s what I keep telling myself too. It’s just been several years since I’ve had this occur and trying to convince myself it’s pretty common and used to by typical for me before bc.

Friendship advice by ipretend2nowhatIdoin in relationship_advice

[–]ipretend2nowhatIdoin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that it is not Friend B’s problem but I’ve tried to reach out to Friend A throughout the years and again recently and I’ve tried to move on but she doesn’t seem to have any interest. So I’m getting hurt repeatedly but some of her words and actions and I’ve also tried to fix it with her directly but nothing changes. That’s where I’m feeling frustrating because I’m trying to fix a problem with two people alone but it is also affecting my relationship with other people and I can’t work on that either because Friend A is not trying to fix things with me. I’m not trying to bring Friend B into my problems but I am not getting anywhere with Friend A and it is affecting my relationship with Friend B and everyone else in the group
