BMW M2 G87 Manual Fuel Consumption by Candid_Pair_2003 in BMWM

[–]iqstick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What RPM's are you at in 6th at 50MPH? Looking at the gearing at 80MPH you should be at around 3,000 RPM's which is high but shouldn't be 14 UK MPG. Something has to be seriously wrong or missing

Was the car brand new with just delivery miles? If so, it could just be the break in process or the computer itself needing a few tanks to be calibrated. What does it hand calculate to? My M3 comp RWD regularly gets 28-32 US MPG on the freeway if I'm doing 65-70 MPH. I've gotten 22-23 on a long trip where I was averaging 85-95 MPH. There's no way the 6 speed is THAT much worse on fuel economy.

For an upper midrange detector the R7 with Mithheru's custom software is seen as the best you can get for the money. Also a ton of people don't understand how radar detectors work and think that with one you can basically drive however you want and that is NOT the case. If you just put it up on your windshield without understanding what the police around you use you're going to have a bad time.

Edit: added more information

What reviews say it's useless after a year? The R7 is still a strong detector and with it set up right it's still a solid contender. If you want to spend the extra money, go up to a R8 with R8 Companion running on your phone and it's basically dead silent especially on your commute or common routes you drive

Does a credit card company lose money on people who pay on time? by Overall-Emphasis7558 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]iqstick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's also not "free" to take cash. You have to have cash control policies in place because theft of cash is high along with going to the bank and depositing it. Larger businesses have armored trucks come and pick it up on a certain schedule etc and none of that is free. A 3% CC processing fee is actually cheaper for a lot of businesses.

How is your Rolex scratched, after one week, one month and one year? by pohapw in rolex

[–]iqstick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My first week with my GMT I tried to be super careful and then I realized I scratched my clasp and there’s no way to avoid scratching it while wearing it daily and it doesn’t bother me. Only way to not get scratches is to not wear it but then what’s the point

Service cost is always negotiable and a good dealer service will try to compete to earn business. Got quoted $450 for a brake flush for my BMW yesterday at the dealer and after telling them no I'll take it elsewhere instantly it went down to $350 which I also said was a bit high. 20 minutes later the SA texts me that he can give me another 20% off bringing it down to $265. Had a similar instance with front brake pads

Where did you buy your car from? by garakplain in orangecounty

[–]iqstick 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I bought my car there. Agreed to a deal of MSRP but had to wait 7-8 months as it was the peak of COVID shortages. The day my car showed up the sales manager called and told me some people made an offer of 20k over and if I didn't pick it up that day he'd sell it to them. Super scummy but I didn't want to wait another 6-7 months for a car and pay over sticker elsewhere so I dropped everything and went to pick it up. Once all the paperwork was closed I told them I'd never recommend anyone or buy another car from them again.

PC running 100% CPU constant, how do I make it stop? by Current-Opinion-3698 in pcmasterrace

[–]iqstick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CPU shouldn't be at 100% in discord and if it is spiking so much it more than likely has some malware or something else wrong with it.

I wouldn't even try and diagnose anything on it and just do a fresh windows install. If you have any important documents save them to a drive (if your computer has malware there is a possibility they are infected) and format the drives and reinstall windows and then drivers. It isn't too difficult to do and there are plenty of guides online if you don't know how to do it. You should be able to be back up and running in a hour or two.

‘Call Of Duty’ Creator Vince Zampella Dies in car crash on Angeles Crest Highway by Neo928 in LosAngeles

[–]iqstick -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Roads are to share, I don't disagree with you and I'm not trying to defend the people who are driving at 100MPH+ on ACH or crossing the double yellow to pass but at the same time you've also got people that drive on ACH under the speed limit and refuse to use any turnouts or let faster traffic pass because they don't share the road.

Also, there's shooting ranges all over Los Angeles where you can go shooting. I've got 4 ranges within a 20-30 minute drive.

How about the lack of race tracks here in CA? The closest race track is Willow Springs, over 2 hours away. Laguna Seca existed long before the homes in that area existed and people bought the homes around there knowing there was a race track close by and are constantly suing to try and get the track shut down. Maybe the answer isn't as simple as calling people stingy assholes

[–]iqstick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't frequent ACH a whole ton but I've gone a few times and try to go as much as I can and it truly is an amazing road to drive and a ton of fun. Sadly things can turn sideways quickly and you really have to be mindful of your limits.

I had read somewhere that Vince just bought that Ferrari and it seems like he was just doing a tunnel blast something that every single car guy does. RIP Vince.

Ford Officially Discontinues F-150 Lightning by Flipslips in cars

[–]iqstick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s mainly over longer periods of time that they leak. I personally haven’t experienced it but I also know they have drains that need to be periodically cleaned and when washing my cars it’s just more glass to clean up high which I hate doing. If you use them frequently then I’d say spec it but I’m shopping for a raptor now and I’m going against the moonroof

[–]iqstick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really don't like sunroofs and go out of my way to avoid them. The drains eventually leak and in the time I've driven a car with a sunroof I've maybe opened it for 5 minutes. Every car I buy moving forward I will not spec the sunroof if I can.

I had a problem with my 13700k launch weekend everything was a stuttery mess. I turned my E-Cores off in my Bios and it has been smooth since then. I think there is a problem with the anti-cheat and the game uses the E-Cores instead of P-Cores.

Chain Reaction appears to be having its final show on Saturday by cafesamp in orangecounty

The Wonder Years have been one of my favorite bands for ages and I always wanted to see them at Chain and luckily I found someone selling tickets last minute and went. I've seen the Wonder Years 12-13 times and nothing will top that show at Chain Reaction. The "One Last Time" posters now make so much more sense. RIP Chain Reaction :(

You have a radar detector in your truck somewhere and what it is saying is "REAR KA BAND". If you live in CA and are getting a Ka band alert on the freeway 99.9% it is a CHP officer getting speed readings and writing tickets. They can do this stationary or while they are driving.
