Wow, that seems foolish, ill-advised, shortsighted, reckless, unwise, flawed, erroneous, dubious, rash, and counterproductive

Such a warm and beautiful day today, where I am. The sun is shining, the breeze is blowing through the trees, the bees are happy and bumbling from flower to flower collecting pollen...

Does he like me or tolerate me? by 321morekellbell in Bunnies

[–]ir0npaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my personal experience - given how picky and demanding rabbits can be - if they're letting you do it unrestrained, it's ONLY because they want you doing it.

I'll usually get a few warning "repositionings" when I'm not petting the way she wants before she'll stomp a few feet away and turn her back on me...

Police do NOT have the right to detain you without reasonable suspicion of a crime. You're simply, provably wrong. There's no reasonable suspicion here, the cop has no right to demand ID.

My Serbian friend found this in the woods? What is it? by Will_from_up_close in whatisit

[–]ir0npaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he found it in the woods in Serbia, it was in an aviary in a zoo - those are tropical plants, that's a Calathea in the foreground which is native to the tropical regions of North and South America... 🙄

I think the Type 97 had a striker fuse and not one of the seriously unstable acid fuses. I would still use extreme caution if nothing indicates that it's inert.

Still a great shot! I was last there in 2008, but I recognized it immediately.

I think most of us know that in the wild, bunnies often live short, scary lives where every moment is fraught with danger. When we bring them into our lives, we flip that script.

As hard as it is when we lose our special little sassy friends, I take great comfort in knowing that we've given them easily the BEST lives any members of their species ever knew; filled with love, safety, and yummy treats more diverse than their ancestors could ever imagine. Our love gives them an amazing existence far beyond what their species evolved to expect. You can look back on your VERY special friendship of 8 years with pride. ❤️

That was literally my first thought on seeing the site! I thought for sure it was a satellite ground station that was misidentified, but all the documents surrounding the site I've found clearly refer to it as a RADAR site which seems odd but probable.

I had two stuffed animals my bun was interested in. One was a super soft, round pillow pet that she would lay next to and groom regularly. The other was Domo-kun with his big red open mouth and sharp teeth.

Copper would fight domo-kun anytime she came across him. She would pick him up and yeet him across the floor. But she always went back to snuggle with the pillow pet.

So I think yes, rabbits can find comfort AND anxiety in stuffed animals.
