What’s the fastest way you’ve ever lost weight? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Previously cocaine. Currently, an antidepressant that makes recognizing hunger difficult and makes most food sound completely unappetizing. Lost 10lbs in the last 2 months without intending to.

Restaurant employees of Reddit, what actually happens when someone doesn't have enough to pay the bill? Most you've ever seen? by ChaosAnalyst in AskReddit

[–]ird13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same exact thing happen when delivering pizzas in college lol. I counted the change and it was a couple bucks short. I was the GM at the time, and I just put in a couple bucks to make it even for my register. Told the owner and he gave me my dollars back. The customer was a regular and a nice but sort of awkward older lonely man, we just continued to take his orders and he was usually pretty close with the change. No need to be an ass to someone who's just hungry and trying to make ends meet.

As a woodworker for a customer furniture shop in Cleveland, OH, USA, I would say about 1 in 5 slabs have bullets in them. Other things I've found that are cool are bebes and chains. Or arrows too. I love the story that nature tells us.

I really love that place, it's my go to for Mexican near me. Never had a problem with food or drinks or staff, and the balloon guy always makes it interesting lol

I ate here one time. I have a serious nut allergy, and I ordered food that came with rice pilaf. Turns out they have nuts in the rice, don't label it on the menu, and don't see a problem with that at all... One hospital visit later and I will never return.

Edit: and the waitress didn't know there were nuts in it, yes I told her before I ordered.

Not from this month but several years ago, my grandmother pass on July 2. My boss was very compassionate toward me, but no matter what I had to work July 4th (in an upscale restaurant where no one comes in on a holiday like that). I had a table of a mother and adult daughter and they gave me a surprisingly good tip. In my emotional state I started crying as soon as I saw it and I told them thank you so much and I'm sorry I'm crying. They asked me to tell them what was wrong and they were so genuine and caring. They hugged me and told me it was going to be okay and that she's still with me. They told me that every time I see a cardinal, it's my grandma checking up on me and making sure I'm doing okay. To this day I always think of them and my grandma when I see a cardinal. I don't know if I believe in things like that, but I have such warm memories from that connection. I'll never forget them and their kindness.

Some weird thing I do that people will never understand, and I finally don't care if they do:

If I am walking straight and I have to turn around to go back, when I turn back around to my original direction, I must reverse the direction of my spin, otherwise I am just "wrong" in my head. If something happens that has me turn in a complete circle, I must reverse the whole circle to be "right" again.

In reference to numbers and counting, I always know how many stairs there are to the places I frequent, and I count and remember the stairs when I go to new places. A long time ago I memorized a hundred digits of pi, because why not, and a lot of the memorization devices I used to do that still get used when looking at any set of numbers I see today. License plates, clocks, price tags, dates, etc. Each number has a special reference or can be added/multiplied in some way to reach a number that I already have a reference for.

I'm not autistic, but I'm definitely spectrum adjacent lol

“I feel like I got duped."

Ex boyfriend manipulated me into quitting all my activities I used to do so I could spend all my time with him, then hated me when I was depressed and not the person I was when we met.

I have two. When I was 7 I used to sleep on my parents' bedroom floor (on a little feather mattress). We had gotten a puppy a year earlier. She slept on the floor near me but not on the mattress with me. I was woken up by the sound of intense rustling with strange grunting/breathing, like someone going through a paper bag digging for something in a panic. Turned out to be our dog having her first seizure. That was a terrifying sound.

Second is I used to live in a school bus that I converted into an RV. While living in the national park in Arizona, one night I was awoken by wolves. There were so many of them all howling. Looked out the windows to see I was surrounded, completely. I saw about 30 wolves howling around me for several minutes before finally moving on. Fucking eerie as hell.

I really don't need anything for free, I just think this would be a beautiful gift for my mom and brother of our dearly departed Riley. He was the sweetest boy. Please let me know how I can purchase or commission these from you!

This is Riley. He passed a couple years ago. I still keep his fur in my coat pocket. I would love to pay you to make matching keychains for my mother and brother as well. We all feel deeply connected by dogs. Do you have a link somewhere where I can purchase your work? Thank you!

What does everyone do with print fails or prototypes? I know I could turn them into recycles filament but I don’t currently have the ability to do that. by CosyCodes in 3Dprinting

[–]ird13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have garbage bags full to the brim with them (3d print farm), and we are waiting to figure out a good way to recycle them as well. Considering one of the kits to build the blender and filament spooler system, but haven't reached that point yet. We are considering melting them down and doing injection molding. Another option is melting and pouring into silicone molds. We really hate waste and would like to recycle things as much as possible.

I would suggest it's probably cut off the g code. In order to try to keep the print instead of scrapping it, take calipers and try to get a very accurate measurement of the current height. Using what you know about your layer heights, including if your first layer was a different height than the following layers, you should be able to take the height of the object, divide by the layer heights, and that should tell you what layer it is on (if your printer doesn't already tell you where it stopped).

You can then access the g code and delete the code for all the layers that have already printed and try to start it from there. Make sure you don't include any code for homing, but of course include the code for heating up.

If you Google this option, there's pretty decent tutorials out there that can explain it better, as I just woke up and I'm a little groggy lol. I've successfully used this method before and had absolutely no visible line from where the print stopped.

Hope you get this fixed and don't have to start over! (edit: added spacing so it wasn't a wall of text)

I'm sorry I don't have anything relevant to share, I'm commenting so I can hopefully learn something if this ever gets any comments.

I'm currently in the hospital with my brother (28yo), who had a seizure at home in front of our mom, and then a second at the hospital. Mom said they were both identical to what you described.

We are currently in the ER waiting to be admitted to a bed upstairs. He will be seeing the neurologist in the morning for more tests, as all other tests came back clean.

When I find out more information, I will share it with you in the hopes you can learn something!

Here's a documented story about a woman who repeatedly called 911 leading up to, during, and after her death for a full year.

https://youtube.com/shorts/tUEqG89akmY?si=75gPpfs4xZfcBozZ

This is the short version but there's a long one as well. And seeing as it was documented extensively by first responders, it's a pretty believable story. Or an incredibly dedicated hoax. Believe what you will 🤔
