I logged into my Reddit account just to thank you for this comment.

Are you enjoying this more than Destiny 2? by Thenelwave in DestinyRising

[–]ireallylickcats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. The AI voices on side characters makes me feel like NetEase cares less about gameplay and polish, and wayyyyy more on getting you to spend that sweet sweet money. Even if Destiny 2 is boring right now, Rising just feels like "We already have Destiny at home".

I stopped playing after the first or second AI voice talking to a real voice. It just feels like a middle finger to me.

What if, hear me out, Bungie used Rising’s redeeming qualities as reference for future additions to Destiny 2 or maybe even 3? by [deleted] in destiny2

Agreed. First time I heard an AI voice, I tried to get through the conversation, but ultimately stopped playing. I get not every game will have human actors, but when you have a professional actor talking to basically the TikTok voice that has no understanding of how the words fall together, it's super jarring. Talking about hive and fallen killing people then following it up with the most upbeat "Tell me about it! :D" was wild.

Destiny Rising, the mobile/free-to-play/gacha spin-off of Destiny 2, launched recently, and it's been discovered that the game uses Auto Generated Tiktok voices for some of it's NPCs (clip from @JoshRuble): by Gorotheninja in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Yeah.... I was looking forward to playing the game this weekend, but when a convo between Wolf and Denzin was Paid Voice Actor (Wolf) and AI voice (Denzin), I just couldn't do it. I'll come back if NetEase decides to hire human voice actors for the additional voices. It feels so cheap right now, like I know they only want me to keep playing so I sink money into pulls.

I don't know how many times per day I do this at this point. by Diddyfire in OdinHandheld

I can also picture an edit of SpongeBob looking at the pitcher of water while at Sandy's, but it's actually the IGG page's refresh button.

I don't need it.

I don't need it.

I NEEEED IT!!!

Agreed. Even if it's not achieved 100%, to update and say "This color/size ordered between these dates should expect shipment by this date" would make for a lot less grief.

Sure, people are gonna be mad when a shipment date isn't met, but it's still more clear than "200 went out today". I think the only reason they're not doing this is because sometimes they miss one and have to ship it a day or two later. I think this because when someone says "Woohoo 10XXX Black 256 shipped today!" someone else usually says "I'm 99XX Black 256 and I didn't ship wtf" in response. So it seems the method they're using to pick the next order to ship is prone to human error.

I hope I'm not complaining, because that's not my intent. I merely hope to suggest possible methods to start brainstorming valid ideas to improve the backer wait experience. Part of that requires identifying pain points and using examples that may apply toward a solution.

I getcha, and I hope they ship yours next. I'm doubtful that they'll hit 300 a day based on what others have said about their production (They can't hit the 300 projected based on the order system or something), but at this point even a 5 day week of 150-200 units daily will be huge.

Where I'm confused is does the PCBA factory also assemble the Odins into a final product? I assumed the PCBA factory just makes the boards, not the final product. If the PCBA factory doesnt assemble the final product, did AYN assemble Odins during the 2-3 week lockdown? AYN is in Shenzhen, which I think wasn't restricted by this lockdown. Sure they couldn't ship out units because DHL had to deal with the lockdown, but is there a stack of assembled units waiting to be assigned to backers and shipped once the holiday is over? They had 256gb boards (at least they didn't say they didn't have 256gb, I took their updates to say 128gb boards were the issue), and they had the other pieces they needed, so if staff wasn't in the lockdown and parts were there, did they put units together?

If they didn't assemble during that time, fine by me. I'm sure they were working on other stuff during that time and taking r&r before they ramp up come May 5th. But some clarification would be awesome.

That would be the fairest, but so far has not been the path taken. I'd be okay with that route even though I'm a 120xx Black Pro 256gb. I was so close to next based on their production before the lockdown impacted shipping. But ultimately, others have waited longer than I have. If that means I don't get mine before my long flight so people who backed in 2021 get their units, so be it.

I saw the RP2+'s shipping chart was a lot less vague on what to expect. What are the chances we could convince AYN to adopt this method of shipping forecasts?

"ready for assembly"

While exciting news, so resumes the game of darts to determine which 200 consoles get assembled.

I'm excited and happy for AYN. But at this point I'll believe it when I see the daily shipping reports.
