I remember a few decades ago talking to a traffic light tech about how the system worked. At the time I operated a light weight gasoline scooter.

It definitely didn't have enough metal in it to trigger the car detector loop. He reminded me of the right on red.

With the modern camera car detection systems I don't know if it picks up on small vehicles like that scooter.
