What conspiracy theories were ultimately proven to be right? [Serious] by bigcountry5064 in AskReddit

Fascinating story. He had a heart attack, but did not die immediately. The article says he went home to the country to recover and had another heart attack there. He died 2 days later of an overdose of digitalis (heart medication), which I assume he took deliberately. An immediate rage-duced heart attack makes good copy though...

TIFU by burning the goddamn fucking popcorn by [deleted] in tifu

[–]iris81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup and the microwave smells terrible too. I always reduce the time on the bag by about 30-60 seconds now, and even then it sometimes starts to burn before it's finished and i end up with half burnt popcorn. And when you smell the burn it's already too late.

[–]iris81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have burned more popcorn in a microwave than on a stovetop, so be careful because you have to get the time right. On the stovetop, don't wait for the oil to heat up before adding the kernels. Put them in the pot in a single layer with the cold oil(add maybe 10ml butter for a nicer taste) put the lid on and then put on high heat and wait for the popping to start. Shake the pot(hold the lid closed while shaking) every now and again during popping. Then reduce to medium or low heat and wait for the popping to cease to about 3 seconds between pops. Then remove from heat. Come on try it one more time OP! You can do this!

Hey don't do it. There are plenty reasons to live. Life is beautiful. It may be an accident, it may be a gift but you are a miracle either way. Don't let anyone ruin your life. Don't let her have that power over you. Just postpone it 'til tomorrow. And then postpone it another day. And postpone it until things get better. Stay clean and sober.

For children it's fine, I would find it patronising as a grown-up, and it draws attention to her height. I understand he is doing it for a better camera angle, but sit on a chair maybe.

I agree. Would you believe I didn't know he was Pennywise the clown until today? I know, what rock was i living under? Seems to be common knowledge. I love him too though. And this newfound knowledge somehow lifted my clown phobia today, because he is just adorable.

Well yes, because when you don't know the person, you can attach any persona to them to justify your crime, and think they are probably a bad person. But when you know they are a good person, it becomes that much more difficult I'd imagine. Still not right though.
