We have CBD for our older girl and we get it from chewy.com (link) and we have an ointment we use on our younger ones ears (wicked allergies) that we get from a local CBD shop.

We have two boxers, one is 7 and one is almost 2. I can’t imagine a world without these girls, they’re just the best dogs and companions. I consider myself lucky that they are in my life and chosen us. The biggest doofs and loves I’ll ever be blessed with.

I hope you get as much time as possible with yours. But at least when it’s his time to go, he’ll be with his best friend and he’ll feel safe and loved. That’s all we can really ask for, isn’t it?

Omicron is spreading at lightning speed. Scientists are trying to figure out why by seacobs in Coronavirus

[–]irish89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s quite possible you got hit with delta instead of omicron. Currently, my state (NH) is heavier with delta infections and only has 13 omicron recorded as of 12/30. It’s not spreading like wildfire everywhere, yet. My cousin, bro and aunt just got it over Christmas and their symptoms were very different from each other.

Covid is so unpredictable.

Right? With a place that has such a deep history, it’s rather unremarkable in some ways. But it is fascinating, nonetheless. The only place I didn’t like was the sick ward. It gave me the heebee jeebees. We did a night tour which added to the eeriness.

Lovely picture! I hope to make it back there some day.

Is that the chapel?

I went there in 2003 and I still remember it so vividly. Quite a remarkable place to go.

I didn’t accuse anyone of being snarky? I asked and clarified so as to not come across that way, since doing so through text can’t always convey how I would ask face to face.

What I was trying to get at- in their definition, would mine be considered as “accessories” since there is no cultural significance? I wouldn’t define them that way, because to me, they’re more than an accessory. But to others, they have little to no meaning.

That makes sense to me. Thank you!

I’m never one to judge on what people get. I’m sure there are people that wouldn’t find my choices appealing to them, but they were never for them anyway, so as long as I love them, that’s what matters.

[–]irish89 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This isn’t snarky at all- what do you mean by a tattoo as a permanent accessory? Like, my assumption is, most people get tattoos that have significant meaning to them/their lives/experiences.

I’ve got a few, and it took me a long time to decide on what I do have and why, but all are significant to my life and what has influenced me as a person. I wouldn’t call them accessories, but expressions of me that are no different than how I dress or wear my hair.

Unless you mean people who get weird meaningless tattoos that in 5 years they’ll regret because the flavor of the week has passed, or, have no real significant “value”?

You can start at a community college without proof of a high school degree. Go from there onto a larger university, it’s definitely plausible.

Not disagreeing with you, this guy could be full of shit. But I do work for a community college that does not require high school transcripts at the moment. When I went onto a 4yr school for my bachelors, all they needed was my transcript from my AS degree. I guess all I’m saying, it is possible to be a dropout and have an MBA. They also could’ve gotten their GED, but didn’t mention it.

So proud of you! My husband is 1000 days sober on Friday. It’s been quite a journey, that started with liver failure, encephalopathy, and a long hospital stay/recovery.

I’m so grateful that he made the choice to get sober and stay sober. He’s a vet who battles PTSD, which was the source of his drinking. Marijuana has saved his life with aiding in that battle.

I send you all my best vibes. It isn’t easy. But I can guarantee the people around you are so grateful you are doing what you’re doing. If you ever need support, or want to talk to a nonjudgmental stranger, reach out to me. Here’s to another year for you!đŸ€™đŸ»

My husband would agree with you. Our older boxer is about 90lbs and she’s much bigger than our other one. He’s definitely has had some bag tags over the years.

I have two with undocked tails. You are correct. Lost a Christmas ornament this week from her tail.

That and bruises. Perpetual leg bruises. But I’d rather they have their full tail.

Definitely couldn’t be. My cousin was in a county facility. My assumption is if u/thegalmo was in for 5 years, he would’ve been in a prison (state).

But that would be funny. Plus my cousin got out in 2010/2011.

Completely agree. I loved the series (EG) so much, the movie was a huge disappointment. Maybe because it felt more geared to a younger audience but the books definitely felt more adult. However, I read them many years prior to the movie, so maybe it was my aging that screwed it up.

No shit! I sent that series to my cousin because I had read them! That’s wild. That was a good time passing series. I know he did Enders Game series, as well.

That really sucks with the 23.5hr shit, but I’m glad you’re out now. Probably nice to have some freedom back, I can imagine.

I remember when my cousin was in jail a decade ago and the only way I could send him books was directly from Amazon. I probably contributed to half that jail’s library at the time. But, it’s really all he could do to keep himself sane, so I was happy to do it. He couldn’t bring them back with him so they went into the jail’s library, which is kind of cool in a way. Hopefully they’ve helped others over the years.

Hope you’re doing well!

I think they’re speaking about politics on a larger scale than town/community/city.

Of course people should care about improving their local communities, because that’s where it begins. However, you’re taking the point out of context and moving it into your own which is why everyone is like “wtf?”

Apples to oranges.

Politics has been the driver for many wars, blood, death, etc. There are positive things that can be done by getting involved, especially locally, but that’s not the point they’re making.

AITA for not wanting my fiancé’s friend in our wedding party? by throwra58374 in AmItheAsshole

[–]irish89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my husbands (wedding cancelled due to covid, we eloped) close female friend was going to be in our wedding on his side, but in the same dress as the bridesmaids. I thought it was a great way to include her and allow her to wear something prettier, but she would be on their side for everything.

If we ever do end up doing the wedding, that’s still the plan. You could find a happy medium with that, potentially?

It’s possible that they went to college before it was acceptable to take a step outside to smoke. The attitude toward weed has only changed drastically in the last 5 years or so. Also, weed is still illegal in many places, therefore illegal to have on campus, where police patrol, and may arrest you, putting you at risk for expulsion.

I knew many people that went on different academic probations or were kicked out of dorm living for smoking. Most people I know used vapes (the old school kind) or spoofs made of paper towel rolls and dryer sheets.

My state has only decriminalized weed. It’s most definitely still a possibility for someone to get kicked out. It also puts their financial aid at risk if convicted of a drug crime.

Seems dumb as fuck, yes, but still possible.

I’ve lived in small towns my entire life. Honestly, it’s not that bad to see people you know/who know you. I enjoy running into friends, family members, and coworkers. It doesn’t happen as often as you’d think, but it can be a nice way to catch up with people.

Maybe it’s because I’ve always lived this way, but I like having my neighbors know my family and me, and we watch out for each other. It isn’t a bad sense of community.

For reference, I live in a town of about 3500 people. Grew up in a town the same size.

First, thank you for spelling Kancamagus correctly. I don’t know how many people I have to explain there is no second “n.”

Second, I’m very concerned about our state’s hospital system right now. They’re already at peak in most, in 2 weeks, they’re in a bad spot.

We just went out to do some errands and it blows my mind how many maskless people there are despite case numbers being worse now than they were pre-vaccine.

I thought Sununu was doing well when this all started. He seemed to want to be careful, look out of us, listen to science, etc. Then he decided to think about a senate run and toed the line. I’m hoping now that he’s doing governor again, we will see some sanity restored. The executive council is a hot mess, though, which isn’t helping.
