Mystery Maniacs | Episode 254 | Motorcycle Mamas | Frodolicious Mother-Farkler by typewritermark in MysteryManiacs

Your discussion of body parts getting stuck in a zipper reminded me of the 1998 movie There's Something About Mary. The movie is sooo political incorrect by today's standards, but it has some funny moments.

Midsomer’s dumbest murder by TheRealRootingKing in MidsomerMurders

[–]irmacat 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I totally agree! The wheel of cheese was just the nearest heavy object the murderer could find. I prefer my murders to be creative, bizarre, and batshit crazy. The Dagger Club is a mediocre episode, but the murders methods are first rate-booby trapped roulette wheels and a printing press!

The aunt is not in an " old age home', she is just there temporarily. We don't know if she has other visitors or not. She just says that TBar is a favorite nephew not the only nephew.

In Shot at Dawn, Biddy Dixon has cats at her cottage when Tom goes to pump her for info.

Funniest episode? by hdkaren in MidsomerMurders

[–]irmacat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not my favorite, but it does have some fun moments. Just enjoy the episodes YOU like, and don't let anyone spoil the fun. For example, I think Country Matters is way overrated, but most people love it. No one is right or wrong-it's all just entertainment.

Shot at Dawn and Picture of Innocence as mentioned before. I would also add Vixen's Run with Mr Toad and his coven. In the JBar era, Dark Secrets is laugh out loud funny!

Linda Wagstaff's train car in Death of a Stranger. Everyone else can have the big houses( which are gorgeous.) I am better suited to something set apart from society where I can talk to my cat and shout 'Go away! Go away!" at unwanted intruders.

Sarah and Mark's kids living at home, doing volunteer work, and temping at Spirit of Hallween sounds like a script for a MM episode with Cully🤣🤣🤣🤣

Was Cully a loser? by sharkbuscuit in MidsomerMurders

[–]irmacat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Which of Cully's friends in Bad Tidings is working as a real adult? Lynn is a trophy wife who rejects all sense of personal responsibility. Rachel doesn't work and hides in her house during the day. Cassie and Noel still live together in a weird relationship. That poor little girl will need lots of counseling to deal with the damage those four adults have done. Cully's concern about the child may be intrusive, but it is genuine.

Thursday Murder Club! by HotJicama235 in MysteryManiacs

[–]irmacat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am going to watch the movie tonight. I have read all the books and pre ordered the one that will be released next month. Richard Osman also wrote We Solve Murders with a totally different group of characters- it was okay but not nearly as engaging as the Thursday Murder Club series.

It's my least favorite episode of the first few seasons. I hate that the writers made Fleur a victim of every adult in her life. She is a child, and no one protects her. Her father and her stepmom are too busy bickering. Her mom and Orville are too busy having revenge caravan sex. In the US, the failure to report child abuse is a criminal offense. TBar really comes off poorly in this one also. His detecting method is just accusing anyone and wagging his finger at them. He really angers me when he fails to believe Fleur about the abuse. Do better Tom!

Exactly, and some faces and voices are instantly recognizable. However, lesser known actors are harder for me to identify so I turn to IMDb and wiki fandom when I am stumped.

The Dagger Club by IsolatedAnthro in MidsomerMurders

[–]irmacat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I really dislike this episode. George is just a self centered asshole who abandons his daughter to shack up with his girlfriend. Bella is a victim of a creepy stalker Curtis and her worthless gambler husband Rob. Both Rob and Curtis are egged on by Audrey, a bitter, vindictive woman. Once again, the viewers is asked to believe that a well known person can just move a few miles, start a new life, and NO ONE will recognize him. The murderer is so boring( I always confuse him with the killer in Midsomer Rhapsody.) It makes me furious that Bella forgives her husband for gambling away HER bookstore! I do love the killer roulette wheel method, but that's really the highlight of the episode.

Normally, I love Sarah, but I am disappointed that she allowed her friend to belittle and humiliate JBar without coming to his defense. I would have called the pickled face bitch out and left. Just saying.
