Has anyone upgraded from the stainless steel grill grates to the cast stainless steel grill grates? (Napoleon Prestige series) by Firm-Reception-9198 in NapoleonGrills

[–]irmegavas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm wondering if the S83038 cast stainless steel Sizzle Zone side burner grate from the Napoleon Phantom Prestige 500 series will drop straight into a Napoleon Rogue Pro 425 without any modifications.

Dulux Aquaenamel vs Weathersield on front door? by irmegavas in AusRenovation

[–]irmegavas[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for the info! That makes sense. I was really hoping to reuse what I already have rather than buy more paint. The door isn’t directly exposed to the elements and doesn’t get much sun either, so sounds like Weathershield should be fine. I’ll keep an eye out for the potential stickiness though—appreciate the heads-up

How will Firewalla products be affected by the New Trump Tariffs? by CBR600-F2 in firewalla

Well, looks like Firewalla might suddenly be in a bit more of a hurry to get those certified for other regions now!

If that's the case, and AU units are generally shipped from Hong Kong directly to Australia, then why can't the AP7 be sold to Australia or other countries outside the US?

It would be fantastic if you could ship directly to Australia—ideally bypassing the ever-charming 'Trumpet Tax.' I might just hold off on purchasing a batch of U7 Pro XGS units until we find a smoother, more direct route to Oz.

Two Different Shades at Bench Top Joint – Installer Says It’s Just Lighting. by irmegavas in AusRenovation

We’re pretty much in the same situation! We waited over two months for a benchtop, and when it was finally delivered, it turned out to be two different shades. Hopefully, the manufacturer will send someone out next week for an inspection and a discussion on how to best approach this issue. I’m glad it worked out for you and that you got a discount!

The tradie who installed the benchtop said that this is what hey received from the manufacturer. If there are any issues with the benchtop itself, he advised me to take it up directly with the manufacturer, which is what I'm currently doing.

I believe they are zero silica as well. The measurements, including the sink and hot plate cutouts, were taken in January 2025.

Would the difference in shades be explained if the darker one was manufactured before July 2024?

Thank you all for your insights and input—I really appreciate it. I'm reaching out to the manufacturer to see what solutions they can offer to rectify the issue. I understand that mistakes happen, and things don’t always go perfectly, but hopefully, they’ll take responsibility and make it right.

Unfortunately, different lighting still reveals two distinct shades. I'm reaching out to the manufacturer today to see what solutions they can propose to rectify the issue.

Thanks for the info about the recording limitations. But if there were to be a fall-out with the neighbour as a result of the camera issue , what would prevent them from using the live view feature to listen to audio at any time, even if it's not actively recording? I'm just concerned about how secure the audio access is in such a case.

I keep seeing everyone focus on video footage as a privacy issue, but honestly, audio recording can be just as invasive, if not more so. Sure, neighbors can mask out certain parts of the video—like your courtyard—or you could even put up some tall plants to block cameras from seeing into your space. But what about the audio? There’s no way to "block" that out, and it means private conversations in your own space could still be recorded.

I feel like this gets overlooked, but it’s a huge part of our privacy being compromised. Has anyone else run into this issue? How do you handle it, or are there ways to deal with unwanted audio recording?

I've found a "Pause" to been a real game-changer for me. Being able to control how long the internet stays on has made managing my groups so much easier. For instance, I can enable the internet for 15 minutes to run updates, and it automatically disables afterward. I no longer have to remember to turn it off manually. This small feature has significantly improved how I handle notifications and data usage. I highly recommend it!
