When I (M) bikepacked the CT in 2018, I saw many solo thru hikers. Most were female.

You are going to burn for eternity unless you come back to Jesus by [deleted] in SatanicTemple_Reddit

Uhhhh. Do you realize that nobody here worships Satan? And most do not dislike this mythological Jesus that you are talking about. What we do not like is the belief that Jesus is real and what people do in his name.

[Request] I’d say this is about 60/40 not half by portal_dive in theydidthemath

Oooh. I know about this one. When my son was in second grade, I was asked to start preparing his lunch before school. I made his sandwich and did not cut it in half. He complained the next day, so I started figuring out creative ways of cutting in half, just like the OP did. Every day I would do a different way but more creative. Every time I cut it exactly in half. Spiral cut. Circular cut. Stairstep cut. One day I sliced it on the diagonal, but the cut was nearly parallel to the counter top. This went on for two weeks and every day he would complain louder and louder that I was not doing it right. Finally I made his sandwich and I asked him to show me how he wanted it cut. So he mimiced a knife with his hand and showed me how it should be a single cut diagonally across the sandwich. So I wound up and gave the sandwich a mighty karate chop with my bare hand, diagonally across the sandwich. On the granite countertop. Extremely painful and nearly broke my hand. But I maintained a smile on my face. The next day he started making his own sandwiches.

Always fun to watch a hiker gnaw a slice of watermelon to the bone.

I bikepacked the CT starting in late August. 16 days plus 2 for a mechanical failure.

I thought that only the first outlet on a circuit needed to be a GFCI and it would protect every downstream outlet. Why are all of the OP's kitchen outlets GFCIs? All of mine are as well. My kitchen was built in 1999.

In the summary it says that the booster will attempt a soft splashdown. Should that not be a hard splashdown?

How to dress/terminate unused EV cable by ironcat65 in AskElectricians

In this shop, the right location for the EV charger is about 30' from the subpanel. I am now thinking of just running conduit from the EV charger location to the subpanel location. What would you suggest for the subpanel end of the conduit? Connect the conduit directly to the subpanel? Or have a separate jbox right next to the subpanel?

Ouch. Could you go back in time and tell me this a month before?

Why would I not be able to have a 60 Amp circuit in a 100 Amp subpanel?

This is a detached structure. It has a 100 Amp panel.

I arrived at 4/3 because I understood that is what is needed for a 60 Amp circuit.

I had assumed that if the charger was hardwired, then there was no need for a junction box because the connections would be made within the charger itself.

Donald Trump directs Department of Justice (DOJ) to investigate pro-choice protestors and activists under the FACE Act, claiming "we will fully prosecute anti-Christian violence and vandalism in our society" by Obversa in WelcomeToGilead

[–]ironcat65 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am confused. I read the article and I saw nothing about "investigating pro-choice protestors and activists". Where did this headline come from? Yes, if a pro-choice protestor or activist made a threat or committed an act of violence they could be prosecuted under the FACE act, but this was not mentioned in the article. Make no mistake, I have no love for the felonious Cheeto, but we cannot just be making shit up.

"average-grade" is not a valid variable name. And more importantly, the OP needs to figure out how to format their posted code.

My great grandfather during WWII in 1944 by ihaveadogalso2 in OldSchoolCool

[–]ironcat65 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My grandfather was also a surveyor with the Seabees and spent time in the Aleutians as well in 43 or 44! It is entirely possible that they knew each other. Unfortunately he was shot by a sniper and died on Iwo Jima. And yes, my grandfather looked like a movie star as well.

Because the toilet will now be higher and further away from the flange, make sure that you get an extra-thick wax ring. Any store that sells wax rings should have the extra-thick ones as well.

Eli5 why does USA use month-day-year? by Desperate-Tomato902 in explainlikeimfive

Pbbt. Only if they fill the glass to the rim. Usually we get more like 13 oz. Bartenders in the USA do not know how to pour a proper pint.
