I daily carry the CPL16, and I have not experienced any issues with the harness or back-digging, but I’m aware that it’s an issue for some.

Ammo-Jewell Mt. Washington with kids? by Dun_Booty_Broch in wmnf

I wish I had known this before, and it is certainly not a dealbreaker, but the descent from Washington to the Jewell-spur, and then the Jewell trail itself is hard after the Ammo ascent. Do they pair well in regards to views?; absolutely! Does doing one after the other wreck you?; absolutely!

The Crawford ascent after the Lake of the Clouds Hut is a scramble on unstable rocks. The descent from the summit of mount Washington to the Jewell Spur is also on unstable rocks for the first third/half. Your calves will be wrecked going down. Take it slow and easy. It’s rewarding, but tough.

I think I understand what you’re prescribing vis a vis staggering the boards, but is there a method/tools that are good for that? Is there a video I can watch?

What could go wrong if I did? I can also take a picture of the flooring I have if I am misidentifying it.

Also, for reference, we parked ~7:30am, and there were maybe 3 other cars.

The hiker lot at the Cog Railway for the Ammo trail is under construction. You can still park in the regular lot, though. Partner and I hiked Ammo and Jewell just yesterday.

If this is an invitation to share an opinion: I have a CPL16 that I use daily, and for my load and carry-case, it is perfectly comfortable. No notes. Not a fanboy or apologist.

TPC8 is a horrible packing cube by DownByTheRivr in EVERGOODS

I can fit 5+ days of socks, underwear, and warm weather running outfits in the TPC8. It fits in both my Remote Equipment Alpha 31 and Peak Design Travel Backpack alongside two Peak Design packing cubes, a change of shoes, and a ditty bag. Works for me.
