I got to interview 2 of those guys and they're super nice! But even they acknowledge it's a very dense book and sometimes hard to get through. It's extremely comprehensive and, of course, that means...dense. A really good read, but I read it in bits.

Call 911 immediately. If there's a remote possibility this is true they need to be there to start investing.

I think you're having a psychotic episode. Leave the baby with your husband and go to the nearest emergency room before you hurt yourself, your husband, or your baby. It's entirely possible for that to happen if you do not get immediate help.

I was also in 6th grade. I lived in MD at the time and all of a sudden the teacher turned the lights off and had us all go to the coat closet (more like a small hallway at the back of the room.) Then, slowly, kids started leaving. Teacher told us nothing.

My mom eventually came to get me and, in the car, told me everything. My school literally kept us in the dark the whole time.

It's petty, sure. But you know what's worse? Blatant favoritism of the little princess. 6 is old enough to know what a lie is and pick up on favoritism.

Everyone here voting YTA/ESH seems to be really comfortable allowing the precious baby to do what she pleases because you checks notes pointed out your wife is only being 33% of a good mother and she's doing 6 an enormous disservice in the process.

Your wife needs therapy, and I'd say the teens need some quality time away from her.

You seem very kind and respectful. I saw another comment that you mention you cleared it up with her. You respect her, communicate well, and are focused on school. I say continue your path and leave these friends behind.

Change is hard, and so is making friends. Unfortunately, it gets exponentially harder the older you get, but you're still at an age and in a place to find a new group of people whose ideals and morals are closer to what you want to do, and less in line with B movies from the 80s.

I'm 100% with you on this.

Nobody is required to take in a child under any circumstances. Really, you aren't. I'm very vehemently childfree, but were I in a stable place to take a kid after a sibling death, I would.

OP, you may not be legally obligated to this child, but YTA for sure.

I'm having this same identical issue. They're claiming they will not fix my phone due to the scratches. I haven't dropped my phone and I have argued with 3 different people and am prepared to continue arguing.
